well sadly the car failed its mot and the subframe is knackered and a few other bits wrong so sadly its off to the scrappy on tueesday

If it is discs and pads make sure you free up the caliper sliding bolts or it'll just do it again.
yeah will get teh new pads and disks ordered and give it a good strip down and free them up while im at it

vibration when braking
ok here goes when im doing over 15 mpf and i touch the brakes i get a vibration through my steering wheel the faster i go the more violent it is was wondering if any one has suffered this personaly i say warped brake disk but would like peoples opinion before i go replacing parts thansk for any help...

daft question but have you tried taking teh vaux logo off and see if there is another logo under it as to me they remind me of mazda alloys with a vaux sticker stuck on top

i put a decat on my 1.8 made a hell of a lot more noise felt more responsive but wouldnt say it added more power did notice more fuel being used so now ive put the cat back in will prob put the decat up for sale once were in teh new house and ive unpacked all ma stuff

now you say moisture i did on monday ad a bottle of fuel treetment that has been sittign in my boot all through that bad weather mibby it got moisture in it in it well seams to be running fine now so lets hope it keeps that way

if i wasnt confused when this hapened im definatley confused left the battery disconected and tried it again there after over 30 mins of being disconected it started and still lumpy so slowly acelerated and it built up but didnt sound good then when teh revs came down it ran fine stoped and started ...

ok here goes all day yesterday car ran and started perfect as usual but thismorning i tried to start teh car and it was turning over slow so changed the battery and tried again was doing the same kept turning it over and it kicked so kept trying after a long time it started but was very rough sounds...

np the stuffs realy easy just dampen the area your gona aply it to then aply and use teh hair dryer to form the vinyl its surprising how flexible the stuff is

i was wanting to do the same as you mate and the easiest way was to put a layer of transparent vinyl film on teh indicator and revers light bit the light still comes through and is still very clearly visable the stuffs £4 inc postage on ebay from this http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v166/piercedra...

so if you put a pre 92 engine in a 93 onwards car you dont need a cat or have i picked that up wrontGaz wrote:if the engine is pre 92 you can run without, but if it passes an emissions test its legal but if it cant its not.
My cav passed the non cat test but wouldn't pass the cat test if it had to.

it is scary teh amount of moisture you get im gona be using a elec powered dehumidifier there a lot more powerfull that teh tubs once its done i will get pics up of the moisture i removed there handy if you like to give the carpets a good wash down as i knwo the vax doesnt lift all the water out and...

personaly im running a decat pipe but will have to put my cat on for the mot any vehicle manufactured after 1992 legaly has to have a cat but it is a chace we take to remove it i am aware of a few cars that have passed the mot without a cat not sure if it was the tester not noticing it or they had a...
