I had slight rough running at low revs and like PlanetC says, as soon as I pulled the rubber pipe off the egr it ran fine. Has your dad definitely done this? Nope, no issues at all since pulling the pipe off the egr....not lumpy in the slightest either, runs smooth as a baby's bum.

I'd probably put a nice set of those VX alloys that were standard on the 95 model but not too fussed really.

well, I've had this 7 months now and apart from a slight low revs slight missing issue (now solved - egr at fault) it has not missed a beat. I used it to do nearly 500 miles over 3 days going to the NEC Classic show, then on to my parents and back home again in November. I've even sorn my Mondeo as ...

Just pull the pipe off and block the end, job done in 5secs.. (fingers crossed it's o.k next week!)

So I can just leave mine as it is then? Do I need to put anything on the metal pipe on the egr? I suppose a bit of tape over the end will be fine.

Today's update! I read what planetc said about disconnecting the egr but re-fitting it after cleaning and thought, if it is closed at the moment and I unplug the vacuum pipe then it should also stay closed surely? So that's what I did, pulled the pipe off, put a nail in the end of the pipe but just ...

I think I'll just try the blank it off with coke can method and see if that makes any difference.

It's really annoying as it has been fine just running around town for 6 months, I thought I would use it to go to my folks and back as the 400 mile round trip would do it good.
