Its my own fault by continuing to drive it with a knackered ring gear.
It only had to last one more day before it came off the road for the winter.

Re: Suzuki RGV250
No, haven't done a CBT yet, the up-front costs of even a moped are high, there's the CBT, £120ish, gear, all I'm after is helmet and gloves at the moment for round-town riding, and the vehicle itself. But, providing I get all that sorted, the running costs are peanuts compared to 4 wheels. Plus I l...

Re: Suzuki RGV250
I'm planning on switching to 2 wheels very soon, primarily because of running costs, and the freedom and versatility of parking and storage of mopeds/bikes rather than cars. Love my Harleys as I'm more into cruising type vehicles, but I don't mind most other sports/road bikes. Glad to hear it, have...

Suzuki RGV250
This is the reason the Cav has taken a back seat this winter, getting towards the end of the restoration of my RGV250. Owned it for nearly 2 years bought as a non runner. Looking forward now to spring to get it on the road. 140kgs with 62 hp, supposed to do 0-60 in 3.7secs. http://i74.photobucket.com...

Probably done 1500 miles since the first post, pretty much exclusively on supermarket fuel of different brands with no problem whatsoever.Passed mot emissions fine aswell.
Supermarket petrol is rubbish?

My dad used to get a company car which the last 3 were Cavs,2x mk2s and mk3.He racked up around 30k miles a year in all of them, so they must have made an impression on me for their reliability.

Re: Vauxhall Cavailer 3.0 V6
No Cavalier was equipped with an X30XE as that particular engine wasn't available until the introduction of the Omega (which came AFTER the demise of the Cavalier!). Fitting a 3.0-litre to a Cavalier is easy IF it is replacing a C/X25XE. To my knowledge, no GLS was fitted with a V6, which might exp...

I bet I have the oldest console from when I was very young... About 30 years ago. Anyone heard of a Philips G7000. The biggest cartidge was about 4Kb. Cartidges were bigger and uglier than the later Atari stuff. Graphics quality was similar to the late 70's tennis games -lol I have an Atari 2600 wi...

Glad you approve  The wheels are factory-issue Silver Shadow II 15-inchers with colour-coded, pin-striped, locking chrome hubcaps. They're wrapped in massive whitewall tyre...

Re: How cheap is petrol...
There is a difference between a local issue of bad fuel, be it contamination at the refinery or at the filling station and a nationwide problem of poor quality supermarket petrol. I am only talking about petrol anyway as I have little experience with satans fuel(diesel) except for a clapped out Zx t...
