Re: Super89's 1991 Vauxhall Cavalier SRi 20SEH

Just a quick update to say all is well after the oil pump failed. Engine is fine. I've only this last few days been bothered to build it back up. I'm going to tax it for this month and then Sorn again for winter as I have a few plans I want to do over winter. Can't wait get it out the garage it's lo...

Re: SRi restoration project

I would say that bulkhead rot has been festering for years before you had the rear inner and outer arch's done. How are the repairs holding up that were done by turbo tom? Also it looks like rust buster went a bit mad with the spray gun

Re: Farm Rescue, BMW E34 520i 24v Vanos.

The 28th came and we had a pass.. :o Insured the car for £112 with footman James, Cheaper than both my Cavaliers. I've been running the car a few weeks now and found a few more things that want sorting. First off is the car seems to lack power under 3000 RPM, A quick search online and it seems my ca...

Re: Farm Rescue, BMW E34 520i 24v Vanos.

Next day, I took the car to the local garage, basically to see what was needed for the mot. I was expecting a few 100 quids worth of suspension stuff and maybe some welding because these car's do like to rust just like our lovely Cavaliers. I was very shocked indeed, No welding needed at all and loo...

Re: Farm Rescue, BMW E34 520i 24v Vanos.

Started to clean up really nice, Only lacquer peel is on the boot and a small patch on the o/s front wing. Only thing on the car not working was the heater, £25 used heater blower motor and that was sorted. http://i68.tinypic.com/24do6bn.jpg http://i63.tinypic.com/f2r29y.jpg http://i66.tinypic.com/1...

Re: Farm Rescue, BMW E34 520i 24v Vanos.

I got the car towed back to a friends house, I had no room. The running problem was the in-tank fuel pump £29 later and the car was running. http://i67.tinypic.com/mae879.jpg http://i67.tinypic.com/158b7m0.jpg http://i68.tinypic.com/24v4s9i.jpg http://i64.tinypic.com/1zof6on.jpg http://i67.tinypic.c...

Oil pump failed. Looking into the Z20let/h upgrade..

Lost all pressure at idle until the revs picked up. Main & big end shells seem to have survived.
