Cars looking mint. Got to be one of tidiest ones about. I'm glad your sump plug looks like that too. I was starting to worry.

Re: Corgi new release - David Leslie and Ecurie Ecosse Team

Oh still think corgi touring car models don't sit right wheels need snapped off and glued further up the arches Yeah the wheels definitely don't sit right. I just took mine apart and lengthened the slots for the axels with a hot knife. http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee376/rupegsi/0F143263-CC96...

Re: Brake grinding??

I might be wrong but I would have thought it will be a mechanical speedo f20. I've had 3 gsi's and double that many f20s and all have been cable driven. Never had a K reg gsi but my cav turbo is K reg and I'm pretty sure that's a mechanical f28.

Nice cav. I think I saw you the other week driving down Mercer avenue. Didn't wave as I was in my MR2.

Yeah not really to my taste either. I bought it with them already on. They got smashed to bits on a curb when a van pulled out on me.

Not really a scan. More a photo of a photo. This was my first gsi 4x4 back in 2003. Check out the venoms! You can see my nova gte lurking in the background.

Not sure about the Bosch ones but I got some eBay ones for the wife's golf and they start to lift off the screen at about 80mph. Aero like a wing not a spoiler.maybe Bosch ones are better but I tried aero ones on my cav and they just looked wrong to me. Keep it retro and go for normal Bosch super pl...

Re: My new daily.

Yeah I think the calipers are a bit seized on mine. Discs definitely feel a little warped when you're coming to a stop. Will sort that at the end of the month. Rad and alternator seem fine for now and yes these are all common faults on mr2s, as was the dripping water on my leg from the t bar. Doesn'...

Re: My new daily.

Cheers for the comments. It was a leaky t top. Had to use the old silicone and cling film trick, doesn't leak at all now. :D . No real plans for it for now as funds are low. Would love a turbo conversion though. ;)

My new daily.

Since my cav turbo was stolen (and recovered) I'm not parking it outside my house anymore. So I've hidden t it away for now and bought myself an mr2 n/a. Yeah i know, but i got it for£480 and it only needed a couple of droplinks for the mot. The indicators are taking some getting used to as they're ...

Re: Cav turbo stolen!!!!!

Yeah been looking at chameleon trackers. Any good? £149 fitted and £399 for 'duration of ownership' subscription. I did think about staking out the garages tonight but I'm a bit wary of comeback. Don't fancy getting it back only for it to be torched later. Would have thought the police would want to...

Re: Cav turbo stolen!!!!!

I doubt it will be found. Whole or in bits. Wouldn't mind if it was just a shell. Everything else is replaceable. I'd pay whatever i needed to get it back but it just isn't going to happen. It will be stripped and just disappear. Gutted

Nice clean gsi. :thumb you might want to check the front sunroof drains aren't blocked. I had a similar leak on my gsi. There's probably a how to on this site somewhere.

I had the same thing with the oil light flickering once it was warm on my cav turbo. I thought it would be a worn out pump but unfortunately it was also the big end bearings as well :wall Hope your luckier but thought I'd mention it.

Re: mk2 astra front struts?

I bought a Cav gsi years ago. swapped my new wishbones onto it but the bottom ball joints didnt fit the hole in the struts. Made me think maybe it had mk2 Astra struts or something. Couldn't think why else the holes were different sizes. Maybe I'm wrong but its something id check.

Re: Does the...

If its the long strip seal that goes under both doors it is held on by little tags like the ones that hold the body kit clips on.Bit like a nail head. Should pull off but when you put it back on you might have to squish the seals gentlywhere the tags are or it will keep popping off again.
