Just watching the video back and I think im going to need an oil catch can and block off the pipe on the intake some how. Never thought about it before but the intake is off a straight diesel and does line up the same but it I just notice it looks like instead of drawing the air out of the rocker co...

Havent touched this since the last update on the 2nd Dec. Really hard to get motivated with the shitty weather but I made a start back at it today. With the new larger intercooler, the old one has been removed which means ive lost the passenger side mount for the radiator. Ive also rerouted the fmic...

Re: Opel Vectra A
Just out cruising about and unbelievably I spotted a Vectra A, or as we know it, a left-hand drive Cavalier!! Not all Vectra A's are leftys, Still a few floating about Ireland here that are right hand drive. The two ive seen come through to be scrapped were both non sunroof models. 1st time seeing ...

I managed to get the proper textured vinyl for the bumper. Just like the fact...

Another wee gem I got today... Going to give it a buff and remove the scratches before it goes on. Do they all have this lack of rubber on each side? http://i897.photobucket.com/albums/ac176/ddoherty406/SL371479.jpg http://i897.photobucket.com/albums/ac176/ddoherty406/SL371480.jpg http://i897.photob...

Re: where would i get new power steering pipes
If you know someone who makes up hydraulic hoses you could do what i have done and put a compresson fitting on the end with the cooler. I havent done it with the other pipe coming from the pump but I may have to if it starts to leak. I got the high pressure hose made up yesturday. Very happy with ho...

Electric Wing Mirror
Hi, Basically my electic wing mirror is a bit loose where it connects to the baseplate, as if its been hit. Before I go making it worse, I thought id ask incase someone knows if I can build a hybrid using a spare manual one. Or if there was a solution for a wobbly wing mirror. Could I swap the elect...

Well, im not doing anymore bumpers for a long time. Spent as much time and effort doing the following pieces as doing the rest of the car. So many dents scrapes and chips, but in the end Im pretty happy to see them done and on the car. Finally everything is painted and theres an end in sight. All th...

Im not expecting massive power gains from this as its still got the standard turbo, but i am curious myself to see exactly how much, if any at all difference compared to before with just the std intercooler setup. MPG will be down but compared to my daily 406 2.0 turbo petrol this should be easier o...

Re: Subject: ddohertys... 1.7 Isuzu Cavalier Project *pic he
I changed the blanking plates to aluminium so that I can polish them to match the inlet better. Small problem that I came across is that the TD fuel lines must be a different shape, as the blanking plate I made for the right side wont go on without removing the inlet again. I think im going to modif...

Water Works When taking things apart I decided to take out the small thermostat which connects the oil cooler to the head. Just realised its been a month since I last updated this and unfortunitly there hasnt been a whole lot done in that time. If I was putting the engine back to the standard setup I reckon this would be on the road, but since I have gone for a rerouted intake and the larger FMIC ive ended up making a l...

After a long time looking I managed to get the larger washer bottle thanks to a member DAN90 on here, so glad to see it in. Now that the battery is out of the bay, the original filler looked messy, so ive used the one from a Vectra B which looks alot neater. Walking through the yard last week I spot...
