Nice work mate.... as said about typical for a GSI i bought a J plate gsi once J775KCR and the rust was a nightmare but fixable just like J199 BWB

got the turbo off and it needs more than just bearings and oil seals :( looks like something has either gone through the turbo and mashed the Finns on the turbine or its not been balanced properly.. ah well il send it off to get a rebuild! owning a cav turbo again reminds me of my cossie days hehe f...

thanks mate :thumb ok so started stripping the manifold down to get the turbo off and iam stumped with the oil feed bolt picture here..looks like you have to take the left side of the turbo off to get to it? hey guys got my inside lights all working now turned out to be just bulbs :oops: my sunvisor lights however still do not...if found the live for them but there are no more free pins on the light for the live..do you think it could be the wrong interior light thats in the car?? in the pic you can see...

Cheers dan... the car is now smoking all the time..took the intercooler pipes off and there full of fresh oil..so ive ordered a rebuild kit..il do that breather mod aswell

Map lights are feed from an ignition live, middle light & sunvisor lights have a permanent live from 1 of the fuses can't remember which 1 though, so if they are not working got to be a fuse. thanks ian..ive checked all the fuses and they all seem fine.. fuse 8 is the one thats for the interior...

curb lights and sunvisor lights not working
Hey guys and gals.... my front door curb lights and main middle light dont work when u pull the light switch and they also dont work with the doors open.. checked fuses all seem fine.. also the sunvisor lights dont work either, however the map lights work fine.. any help would be great cheers all

might seem a silly question but how do i check the breathers, do i just check the pipe coming out of the rocker cover for a blockage???

Hey guys not been on here awhile...just bought a cav turbo and theres blue smoke on the overrun..no smoke when its cold or at idle just when u have been accelarating and then coming to a stop theres blue smoke...could this be turbo seals or stem seals??? Any help would be great cheers

Another quick update, still waiting for a set of gsi rims grrr! in the mean time the cav is going on track at oulton park for the open pitlane track day on the 5th of nov (this wed) il get some pics and maybe some onboard footage, anyway shes now bein lowerd 60mm and a few details done like the gsi ...

cheers for your kind comments peeps, yes mate as you can see ive put the smoked side repeters on and i saw a grey cav turbo on pistonheads with the front smoked side repeters and it looked mint, I will do it at some point but iam just getting the more important things done first

Right update time the cav now has a new MOT with no advisorys, which is mint considering when i first got it it was heading for the scrapyard with 17 avisorys lol, she still needs the gsi wheels refurbing which il get round to in the next few weeks and I still need to put the 60mm lowering kit on as...
