Re: Eastern Region meet Sunday 25th August - Motor Museum Tr

Ah, I tell you what, I can bring a 2.0 one down and I'll do you a swap if it works? In fact, if you pull the comp out and let me know the p/n printed on the sticker/on the side I can tell you if it's a v6 one or not, or even a straight six one. Sounds good, theres a couple of numbers on it, (GM 90 ...

Re: Eastern Region meet Sunday 25th August - Motor Museum Tr

Would there be any interest in me bringing my Tech 1 kit down to this event, and giving any car that is in need a good shake down/fault code readout/clear etc? For a small fee, of course! 8-) I was going to ask this, but felt too cheeky!! My fuel computer is showing 'F' i think because...

Re: Cav with caravan rare pic

I work in a petrol station, and have towed many cars off the forecourt both dead and alive. Nissan Navara, Transit lwb, mondeos etc. Biggest thing i have pulled is a Range Rover Sport thing. 2.5 tons according to Google! I also have towed a caravan, 4 birth, plated at 1.1 ton unladen. On the road I'...

Replacing copper brake lines

Hi, im thinking of replacing the copper brake lines that run from the ABS thingy under the bonnet and run along the side of the car to the rears. They have been replaced by an amateur at some point, they aren't routed properly and look to have been done by Stevie Wonder! Its obviously going to be a ...

Re: Never clean you greasy car stuff in the garden oops.

I rattle canned a bonnet in my dads kitchen. For some reason i didn't put any paper down. Everything went black, cupboards, floor, white goods, pans etc all had a light misting of black! I also washed an entire moped engine case and transmission in the dishwasher. Came out lovely :thumb The benefits...

A major job, or time saving idea?

Hi, I've found a Cav in a local scrappy which has had a front end crash. The rear arches are really good, i mean really clean. The cars only done 70k. I was thinking of cutting the rear arches out to weld into mine to replace my rusty ones. I was thinking of cutting from the sill, all the way around...

Just got home. Fuel pump is on its way out. The poor manchetts bloke is paid a flat rate, even for Christmas day, £8 odd. He was pleased to see my car, he owned several in the past. Super helpful and towed me home.

Round town, probably less than 20. Brutal
I work in a petrol station, and when people moan about their car or filling it up, i point to my innocent looking vauxhall and tell them what its like. Soon shuts them up.Il never sell it though.

Ive had similar with mine. Deadlocked it, then couldnt unlock it because it had frozen. I was so worried about snapping the key or the lock by forcing it, i climbed in through the boot  Not my most elegant moment.

A cheeky favour to ask. Spring measurement

Hi, Im looking at getting a set of the spring assistors for the rear of my cav when towing. They are sold by measuring the gap between the coils when the car is jacked up. My question is, if anyone has their car jacked up, or a rear coil spring off the car, if they could measure the gap for me pleee...
