Re: whats the worst car you have ever ownd ?

Actually, thinking back, the escort cabriolet I bought the wife was probably the biggest piece of crap. I bought it on impulse as she fell in love with it and it was in the days when I would do things just to keep her happy, lol. It filled with water when it rained, waste of time trying to fix leak...

Re: whats the worst car you have ever ownd ?

Ford Mondeo.. ran like a bag of nails, and probably the most uncomfortable car I've ever sat in. Never took any pictures of it, hated it, didn't want to be reminded that I'd ever owned one.

Re: Fibre Optic broadband

Im with Virgin - never had any problems with them. Im on a 60mb connection... here's what I was getting this morning: http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z453/audhumla1/ScreenShot009.jpg and it is properly unlimited - not like some of these companies that say theyre unlimited, but then have a "...

Re: standard or not?

I prefer standard. My ex changed the wheels on my '76 Celica ST - handled like a bag of shite after that so I made him change them back. Been standard all the way since then.

Re: Eastern Region meet Sunday 6th Oct North Norfolk coastal

Much as I love driving my cav, a 2 hour drive to a 1.5 hour drive, and a 2 hour drive back - that would be a bit much for me :\

Re: Loss of power

Just went out and started her up for the first time since it happened, seems to be able to rev fully now - now I remember it was said that standing will allow the blockage to settle a bit and let the exhaust gasses through, so that would explain that, but its now chugging quite a bit too, missing li...

Re: Loss of power

Got my exhaust emissions test in front of me now. Tells me that its a "Non-catalyst equipped vehicle". The limits apparently are CO max 3.50%, HC max 1200 ppm. Mine was 0.52% and 69ppm. Just found this: For vehicles registered between 1st August 1975 and 31st July 1986, the CO level must n...

Re: Loss of power

Well, I have had a bit of a rattle from the cat area for a few weeks now - it was quite minor but I don't like rattles so I was going to get it looked at, but as I was out on my trip I missed a turn. I reversed into a driveway to turn around, and as soon as I went back into first again the rattle wa...

That's mine, but doesn't it have to have a cat if it already has one?

Re: Loss of power

I usually use this website: http://www.cats-direct-shop.co.uk/parts ... onverters/ Decent prices and fast delivery. She did mention it was a 92, so could be early or late, if it's early you can get away with it, if it's got one on there however, then chances are you need one on there. Thanks :) Not...

Re: Loss of power

Could it be the lambda sensor itself causing the problems? It was quite black and manky when I saw it as my mechanic was changing that part of my exhaust. It'll probably be the cat though, knowing my luck - its always the most expensive bit :(

Re: Loss of power

had a quick look while I was waiting for it to cool down, all seems fine except the rubber at the top of one of the plugs was blisteringly hot. Was going to have a proper look tomorrow.

Loss of power

Hey :) Was on a little tripette today when suddenly the cav lost power and started being very sluggish when under load. Its reminiscent of a plug or two going, but the engine isn't sounding like that's whats happened. Ive had a bit of a rattle from the cat recently, nothing major just a slight rattl...

Id have thought Hampshire was more South or South East than South West. Surely Devon or Dorset would be more "South West"... Cadnam is closer to me than it is to anywhere in Cornwall for example :P

Rattling

I've had a load of what looks like baffle material from (I thought) my back box recently and was going to replace this since it was also an advisory in my recent MoT test with apparently a small hole, but now I'm getting a nasty tinny rattle from the region around my cat. Not sure if the two problem...

So annoyed right now.

Some bastard "nailed" my tyres last night - went to do a tip run with some stuff today and this happened: http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z453/audhumla1/tyre.jpg You can even see the bloody nail. Now I have to try and find the elusive 195/60/R14s - four days before payday, so probably ...
