Re: Markb's 94 Cav Turbo (Originally A4 RAP)

If you had any work done by any body work, mechanic or similar then that evidence would also help with the overall valuation. OK understand where you are coming from now. If it is general service work like cambelt, etc... then no they would expect this. If it was restoration work then yes of course...

Re: Markb's 94 Cav Turbo (Originally A4 RAP)

Correct. .. just curios - your turbo is a nice example, the upgrades blend into the car nicely. If you have any works done by specialists they will also take that into account General market value - its a bit naff! Not sure what you mean? Do you mean if it has any work done via the insurance compan...

Looking polished as ever - very nice ... and what's the agreed valuation by the insurance company? Thanks. It means that you submit the value, you think the car is worth to the insurance company and they review it with the help of pictures and if they agree with you they will insure the car for tha...

Re: Markb's 94 Cav Turbo (Originally A4 RAP)

Tracking done on the Cav at the weekend. Good job really as it was miles out after doing the ball joints and track rod ends. Thanks to my mate Jonathan. Before anyone says the car is fully polly bushed. So there would be no benefit changing the arms (other than them looking shiney). https://farm5.st...

I have been flat out getting the car ready for PVS as I only got the car back Wednesday afternoon and it had no interior and bodyshop dust everywhere. The car is currently at the bodyshop and I hope to get it back Wed for another last minute rush to get it back together ready for PVS, but while it has been at the bodyshop I decided it was time to finally sort the headlining as I had been putting it off for a while. Unfortunately after removing the...

Re: Markb's 94 Cav Turbo (Originally A4 RAP)

I have been having issues with getting the Cav to start recently. The final straw was when I went to check the tyres and get fuel and it decided to play up and would not start for 20 minutes! I have tracked it back to the immobiliser, which over time has been exposed to vibrations and heat (from its...

It may be that the the immobiliser is also switching something on the toad alarm. There will be no data comm...

Re: Bosch RK113 / VIM 129 Single Button Immobiliser - help!

As such - I thought the Toad was a fully freestanding alarm. So not tied in to your alarm. But I could be wrong. I am just wondering if both the alarm and the immobiliser are wired up idependently to immobilise the car. A bit like having two off switches in series. So bypass / valet mode each one t...

Re: Bosch RK113 / VIM 129 Single Button Immobiliser - help!

Yes - it is the valet mode. I only use it when the car goes in for MOT, service or repairs. Thought it must be the valet mode. If I remember correctly from the Clifford's it disables the alarm completely so that will not lock, arm or immobilise? Are you thinking try it like that with the pins jumpe...

Re: Bosch RK113 / VIM 129 Single Button Immobiliser - help!

If it is the toad alarm, try switching on the bypass at the rear. It should be like a small barrel key or a little switch on the actual alarm ECU box. I have the modular version, which is the M85a plus M8 module and so on (M is for Meta which was absorbed by Toad Install about 15 years ago). I don'...

Re: Bosch RK113 / VIM 129 Single Button Immobiliser - help!

The most permanent method is to short the pins at the connector. The Ford version uses all black wires, which is why I did not list any. The socket should have pin numbers embossed onto it, so this can be checked to ensure you have the pin numbers in the correct orientation. The Ford version is mor...
