In Tank Pump to Tank Hose Part Number?

Hi all! The short rubber hose that goes from the pump to the tank (the removable part) has split and I'mhaving trouble replacing it. I've tried using a straight piece of pipe but this causes the pump to sit at the wrong angle (the original hose is slightly 'S' shaped). Does anybody know the part num...

Re: 3.0 Supercav!

So I've not updated this in absolutely ages, mainly due to ownership of this car developing very much into a love/hate type thing! Get yourself a brew and settle down! Following last years aborted trip to the 'Ring, I'd planned on putting some more miles on it, getting the LPG working on it, and gen...

Re: 3.0 Supercav!

So, I went to Pirtek, but unfortunately they didn't have enough fittings in to remake all the pipework in PTFE. So they made up one PTFE 'bypass' hose up for me, which I duly fitted: http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j89/himselfunknown/Supercav/2015-06-05-7_zpsnt2etxla.jpg Before I did, I did a bit ...

Re: 3.0 Supercav!

Well gents, the gloves are off on this: on the way home from work this afternoon, another hose popped clean off an end fitting, one that Pirtek themselves did (using hand crimps). Cost me an hour in the car waiting for the RAC, and £50 for 3 litres of oil. :wall So this evening I have stripped off a...

Nightmare encounter. Hopefully, it isn't anything too serious that re-occurs. That's what I'm hoping Gary Lovely car! I agree with you, a good thrashing is what you need to highlight any problems you might encounter before a long journey (not forgetting the performance bit at the end ! ) Fingers cr...

Re: 3.0 Supercav!

Been a while since I updated this, so here goes. I've been having a fair mixed bag of results the past week or so. After it passed the MOT and I got the semi's fitted to the Astra wheels, I fitted the Astra wheels to the car. While they fitted OK on the front, the rears caught, so had to come back o...

Re: 3.0 Supercav!

Looking good Tony. Just the way I like cars... A wolf in sheep's clothing. :cool Looks a proper sleeper there, fantastic job! Don't forget to get plenty of pics at the 'ring. Yes, I do like the sleeper look, I have to admit. I've already had a Merc owner wondering why he spent all that cash on a ca...

Re: 3.0 Supercav!

Looking good! Bumpers sitting a bit low though... :p (Runs away). Bumper is fine Gary, it's the camera angle :thumb The bumpers might not be on the car long, as I'm tempted to put my GSI body kit on it, and some other subtle upgrades. But then I do like the sleeper look. Choices! Anyway, bit of an ...

Re: 3.0 Supercav!

Been cracking on with some bits and pieces, despite several minor changes of plan and waiting for bits to be delivered! Got my uprated throttle body in, off a guy on eBay. Enlarged from 62mm (iirc) to 68mm, and also had a spacer made up to delete the traction control butterfly: http://i78.photobucke...

Re: 3.0 Supercav!

Anyway, a bit of an update. Not a lot of photos as most of what I've been doing recently is plumbing in the LPG and engine in general, so nothing amazing going on. But other than the boring stuff, I finished off the oil cooler pipework: http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j89/himselfunknown/Supercav/2...

Re: 3.0 Supercav!

Been cracking on a bit with this. Being single really does help, lol! Exhaust is now back on the car. Not 100% happy with it, but I'm going to wait until I fire it up to see if it blows or rattles against the bodywork. I need to get the tailpipe adjusted anyway, as it was last fitted to a saloon so ...

Re: 3.0 Supercav!

So I've been making a bit more progress on this over the past few days. Re: 3.0 Supercav!

Cheers Gary! I'm quite a way off turning the key though. The next stage is to get all the suspension built up and under the car finished, then get it dropped back onto its wheels, which will hopefully mean the remaining work under the bonnet is easier. Although when the weather is like this, the pro...

Bit more of an update. A fair amount of progress, but mostly prep-work. But it's the journey and not the destination, they say, and I'm enjoying piecing together the jigsaw. Been cracking on with some more bits and pieces. Now have the LPG fuel line fitted, the LPG tank filler line, and the the filler attached to the towbar bracket. Also upgraded the towbar electrics bracket as the old one was bent and looked awful: http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j89/himselfunknown/S...
