Re: Problems filling up with petrol

Cheers Gaz. Is it as simple as pulling them off and blowing them through?

Problems filling up with petrol

Not sure if this is in the right section of the forum.

Anyway, had this problem on my last cav too. When I try and fill up at the garage the pump clicks off as though the tank is full every litre or so. I try and reposition the nozzle but no joy. Is there any way to sort this?

Re: 1.8 8v tuning

Thanks, I'll give that a miss then. So whats the next plan- head work/cam or something "bolt on"?

How hard is it to fit a 2.0 8v and is it worth the effort?

Cheapest place for a 1.8 rad?

Just found a hole in my radiator. Chucked a bottle of rad-seal in but would rather replace it. Is it a simple job? Where's the cheapest place to get a new rad?

Blimey, thats even cheaper than my Cav! At the end of the day mate, it doesn't matter what it's worth to someone else, it's what it's worth to you. I paid £150 for mine but there''s no way I'd let it go for less than £500! :cool

I know! I picked up a turbo spoiler and GSi grille for £13 and thats the body mods done (when they're fitted). I am toying with the idea of painting the door & bumper bottoms black.

keys & lock set. Where to buy them?

I took delivery of my cheap and cheerful project cav yesterday but the keys are all different. I've scanned ebay for a set of door locks, ignition barrel, tailgate lock and keys but theres only 1 set on there.

Any other ideas?

I've read several reports/articles that all say the best flowing filters are the standard paper jobbies.

Can't beat the sound of an induction kit roaring at full tilt though ;) 8-)

I forgot I posted this thread. It's fitted and went straight on but it stuck out past the bumper by about 4"!!

So I cut it back with a grinder and stuck a chrome trim over it.

looks miles better, you got any more plans for it? Yes, I've just come in from putting the standard springs back on! The ride on the lower springs was horrendous. The stock springs aren't too much higher and the comfort level is amazing. Oh, and I've painted all 4 calipers red. They look much bette...
