Worrying

Not solely Cavalier related but like many on here I only have older cars as well as my Cavalier. All are well looked after and cherished in a way most motorist's wouldn't understand so when I found this video it was most concerning and the way the world is going I believe it has some substance. Has ...

Re: VBOA 2023 21st to 23rd July 2023

Wow you really had a wet one! Talking to some stallholders they said that they never unpacked their stock, those that did had some really wet stuff on display on Sunday. Still it is summer!? Sunday started off cloudy and we walked around with brollies and Mac's ready for a downpour but the day gradu...

Re: Door panel removal

Ah, that plastic hook! I sort of remembered it once you pointed me in the right direction - thanks. Panel off and membrane peeled away from corner it was the lock microswitch that was giving trouble. Planned on removing it for detailed examination but it seems the window channel is in the way. Gave ...

Door panel removal

Have an intermittent drivers door lock on my CD, straightforward fix I thought, probably dirty contacts. However although I've had all door panels off many moons ago when cavity wax was applied - I can't get the panel off! All screws and clips released except one at the lower rear corner. Haynes man...

Re: Battery Life

Batteries do tend to just 'die' now! When I just got married/mortgage etc my Morris battery started to give up but being short of cash I nursed it through the winter by using the starting handle (remember them!)

Re: My Little 1.8LSi

I had to pump up the wife's MINI tyres every day (3-4lbs) and finally reached my match. Had tyres removed to investigate and found extensive corrosion in the wheel wells, lumps of paint as big as my hand would come off! Had all wheels shot (media?) blasted and powder coated and could now sell my foo...

Re: The Wife's Vectra-C - The other battle wagon

I used to get wiper blade refills from Wilko's (Wilkinson before name change) and they seemed 'ok' but the last few sets I have bought for our cars have been Bosch (from eBay) and about a tenner and they have been very good.
The rubber seems to slide over the glass easier?

Sad to think that the majority of cars scrapped are the result of a low percentage of corrosion - what we reckon 10%?

Crikey, a right can of worms. Photo of my original rear springs on my 1990 CD shows tapered spring wire and reducing spring diameter if that helps.

Re: Cavaliers in the snow

Had about 2 or 3cms of snow here (Southend area) and was watching 'drivers' sliding down a local hill - all wheels locked just going where the hill took them until stopped by kerb or lamp post or the cars that were already stopped!
They didn't have a clue.
