Re: Cavhoppers Turbo

Yes folks the car is a write off. I got rear ended on the motorway and the chassis is bent. Also was shoved into the car in front as well. I had a nasty case of whiplash but I'm a lot better now. I'm still argueing with the insurers over value etc. It was running absolutely perfectly as well. Just s...

Re: Exhausts and performance upgrades..

Right then G. The only cav exhaust that is a wider bore than the SEH one you have is the ecotec/V6 one. This will fit straight on to the front box you have (instead of a cat). The only difference is the hangers for the backbox. There are 2 extra ones, but these just bolt onto the chassis leg, so you...

Re: Cavhoppers Turbo

Honestly Gary its the truth..... If you fit cupholders then your car will no longer be real. FACT. The ones in the glovebox dont count as they cant actually hold a cup lol  I'll do some more pics of the turbo once I've had a chance to clean it. Currently up to my eyeballs in coolant leaks lol! ...

Re: Cavhoppers Turbo

I think a mate of mine might have owned that at one point, is it localish? Came from Stoke or thereabouts...... Been in a garage being rebuilt for the last couple of years. It was stripped for its engine and box, but some friends of mine saved it, and built a new engine for it. I've done Diamond Bl...

Out of interest G, what airbox have you used?

Is it an SEH mk3 one or did you manage to bodge in a mk2 one?

Re: Panel filters

I had a Courtenay panel filter on my V6 and it worked well. Along with Courtenay cams, 4 bar FPR and remap, it made 194bhp and 190 lb/ft. Not bad for a 2.5! Another thing I did was take out the tube from the lid of the airbox, and ditched the resonance box under the inner wing. Then ran a piece of a...

Re: project sri v6

The problem is the F25 'box doesnt have a speedo drive. The V6s take their speed pulse from the ABS/TC system, so you will need to tap into that. I'm not sure if the pulse frequency will be right. The other problem is the rev counter. Obviously the signal from a 6 pot will be a different frequency t...

Another VXON regular!

Hello I'm CavHopper, better known as Trav. Many of you may know me as part of the fixtures and fittings over on VXON. I have owned a lot of Cavs, and know them inside out! My last was a lovely Courtenay tuned V6 in Diamond Black. I'll whack up a thread on it once I'm back in the UK, as currently ser...

Well not back until W/C 4th. Got to go buy a new car too as the Astra workhorse has had its day I think lol! Looking at a Vec C Elite DTI, then finish the Mk2 Cav (with a LET) for fun on weekends  Either that or I might have landed a Spectral Blue Cav Turbo. In that case the mk2 gets ...

Re: project sri v6

Liking the smoothed in spoiler ;) Vent looks good too - you will have to plumb it into the airbox now so it gives plenty of cold air. I'd keep the cesaro seats if they are in good nick. They are pretty decent and supportive. Cream Calibra leather would look odd against the black dash and trim on a w...

It is lowered 60mm!

I know because I fitted my old springs to it lol!! Its got my old seats too!

It is a lovely car, actually very tidy already but will be gleamo once Steve eventually does what he wants with it.

I tried to persuade him to 5 stud it ages ago but I dont think he is keen on the idea.

Also going to have a sort out- might have a few other bits for you such as fog lights?
