Re: 1994 Cavalier LSi C20NE (was C18NZ) Work-horse

I've used talc powder in the past to trace leaks. Cover the inside of the boot in it, then when the water runs over it it's easy seen the way the water came from.

Re: SRi 16v W.I.P. (lots of pics)

Been a year since I've put anything on this. Well this week the car passed it's MOT with the normal advisory ie to much underseal. Done a massive 242 miles between the mot's this time  if my maths are correct. Also had to fit yet another new battery today too. Up next is replacing the cheap s...

Think you will find lots of vauxhall s have same fitting for steering wheel, up until the mk5 astra / vectra c. I have a vectra b wheel on my cavalier.

Some amount of work gone in to that turbo. I'm sure it will put a huge smile on your face once one bolted on to your engine.

Good work going on there keeping the car going. Cavaliers easy and cheap to fix, if you keep up the maintenance. It's just the rust that kills them off.

This weekend I've removed the vectra b central locking from the cavalier and fitted the vauxhall remote central locking kit for the cavalier. http://imageshack.com/a/img924/2528/WNXUVA.jpg All in and working once I fitted new battery to the remotes. While the car was in bits I fitted a aux point and...

Re: Coolant leak (C18NZ, manual transmission)

That's the power steering pipes the thin one goes round in front of the rad in a loop. That bit in front of the rad acts as a cooler for the power steering fluid. So your needing power steering pipes, not coolent pipes. I had to buy a replacement pipe (the thicker of the 2 in your pic) when I first ...

Car passed MOT. Only 1 advisory as normal for 'chassis undersealed restricting full inspection'. Car has done 382 miles between the MOTS this time.

Had the bonus of coming back clean as the rain held off today.
So I'm happy. :thumb

Re: Gear linkage popped off

No pin holding it in . It will just be tight because it's probably never been moved since the car was made. Try some WD40 and wiggling it about till it pulls out.

Re: Gear linkage popped off

Open up the lugs on it and it will pull out. May need to use a screw driver to lever it out. Use grease on it when you refit it.

Re: SRi 16v W.I.P. (lots of pics)

Today I have spent hours cleaning the cavalier. Started off using g3 scratch remover on most of the car. Then g3 paint renovater on all the car. That got rid of quite a few scratchs and marks on the paint. Black shows them up to easy. Next I polished the car twice and waxed it twice. So in all 6 tim...

Hi and welcome. :thumb Not a quick job.. And not cheap either. Dual mass flywheel, and I think the clutch swap time is about 7 hours labour. The wife has a 2005 Vectra with the dreaded 1.9cdti 150. I am not looking forward to the day when her clutch goes either. The labour bill is more than the valu...

vectra b central locking in a cav question

I've half fitted the vectra b central locking to my cavalier. Just need to change driver door motor for a passanger one. Today I plugged in my spair door wiring loom and pass door motor attached to the lock mechanism. On the door plug of my cavalier drivers door. The lock will now dead lock the driv...
