alright mate, ive got 6 by 9s in my shelf and it also had a steel bar, i managd to do mine its a bit fidly but possible, i cut out the shape of the speakers on the top of the parcel shelf 1st and then remeovd the underneath cover (just a few screws) then cut the underneath (steel plate) a bit bigger...
