1985 Opel Rekord 2.2

Well, I did it again. Bought another old Opel just for the sake of saving a classic. And my grandad had one years ago in the same colour and trim. 1985 Opel Rekord 2.2i top spec. Electric everything. Bought with no engine and gearbox, in need of light restoration. http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h...

Running LEAN 1.8i

Hi good folks. My 1995 1.8i is running lean. I have what can only be described as a very slight misfire on idle, and on accelleration. The car doesnt cough and splutter but can be lumpy and lack a bit of poke. Feels like the engine should have more to give. First I took the spark plugs out and repla...

Re: Not the expected start to the year...

I think we should all become part of the government's justice review, we would have crime stamped out in no time! lol I'm sure 90% of real people feel the way we do - just too many do-gooders out there thinking that everyone can be rehabilitated. No rehab short of a proper punishment will ever work...

Re: 1987 Opel Manta

Ive never heard of Enfield. Will be doing a few local shows and might do the Dutch manta club show again this year. My local shows are Weston Park transport show, Trentham gardens transport show (fathers day) and a few other small local shows. I usually do the German classic car show at Haigh Hall u...

Re: Not the expected start to the year...

The problem is the CPS. Back in "the day" police knew who the offenders were, and where to look for them. All the police can do now is gather evidence and provide it in a court of law. The do gooder pencil pushers at the cps will throw it out on lack of evidence etc etc. Its happened to me...

Re: 1987 Opel Manta

Finally, someone who has proper sense and sacrificed a corsa with an oversized engine to put that engine in a proper Opel! :D My hat off to you Sir! Very good project, looks fantastic. Proper classic. :thumb The corsa was a Dog. It nearly torque steered me into a field on the track up to my garage....

Re: 1987 Opel Manta

Im not affraid of the grinder. http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h20/sutty2006/IMG_1238_zps85a6653d.jpg Pulled the engine out. The money I made from selling corsa parts payed for the car itself. So the engine was free. http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h20/sutty2006/IMG_1241_zps38560a56.jpg Out with...

Re: 1987 Opel Manta

So I rebuilt a 2.0 OHC Sri 130 engine. Fitted it with the 32/36 weber carb from the 1.8 and a 1.1 fiesta KnN filter.. which resulted in 124bhp. 54 up on the 1.8. Made towing the van effortless. http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h20/sutty2006/mantaengine.jpg Only it didnt quite fit, so I cut a hole i...

1987 Opel Manta

This is my pride and joy. The car I have owned the longest (as I used to swap cars alot in the past). I bought it in March 2007 as a Donor car for another which was rotten. I would have been a fool to cut this up, and decided to rebuild it instead. Bought for a mere £200 with no engine and gearbox. ...

Re: New member signing in

Thanks for the warm welcomes folks :) The 2 lads that set fire to N469 were caught at the end of my street. Its a long story but the CPS wouldnt prosecute due to a gap in seeing them leave the scene, and getting picked up by the police at the end of the road (roughly 10 seconds). However, I do have ...
