Re: My VERY RUSTY VW T25 Camper Van Project

Red oxide was red lead paint. Red lead is no longer available. .
So red oxide these days is red dyed etch primer. You have to be careful with acid etch primer as it reacts with fillers and some primers

Re: My VERY RUSTY VW T25 Camper Van Project

Did you not see the yellow and black clinical waste bag that I left with at the end of the evening. It was full of those parts, and the dash pod cover. A bit of homework. :D i ...

Re: Vauxhall Senator

The biggest problem I've found with the spot welder is ALL surfaces have to be beyond clean. Most of the time I resort to plug welding to be honest. Probably be great when all the metal work is brand new but with cars I find all the old stone chip, underseal etc plus zinc primming can upset the spo...

Re: M Plate 1.8LS Saloon

Heard from the guy doing the door, he said that he spent ages getting the old paint off it, apparently it was polyurethane paint and the coach line had been lacquered over so had to take the paint back to bare metal. at least on the main part of the door. didn't even know that was a type of paint, ...
