Re: I'm back in a Cav
A real huge shame for you... But at least the Cav gets another chance. What about yourself? Are looking at another Cav, or have you been burnt and so not willing to go down that road again?. Not sure what I'm doing yet. I will have another cavalier eventually but may go for something a bit newer fo...

And so this chapter ends. It's off to it's new home in Wales and the guy is a cavalier enthusiast along with his son so hopefully it will be back on the road before long.

Yeah it's going as a complete car. Think I may have a new owner for it. Will find out later todayRobsey wrote:That is really sad news.

I am assuming it is going as a whole, as I cannot see you being physically able to / wanting to strip it for spares.

Re: WHICH WATER PUMP?
Not 100% sure but I think the bottom one. I seem to remember it was offset and the bottom one's showing a lug that I do remember, it fits between two notches on the casing. best bet is to check your engine number(log book's easiest) against the fitment details on ecp. Bottom one's from engine no. 1...

WHICH WATER PUMP?
So I've been told that my water pump may have caused the timing belt problems with my car but which one do i need as there are 2 showing up on euro car parts and both look different to each other http://i663.photobucket.com/albums/uu356/pootle2803/Screenshot_2017-04-13-10-16-26_zpsw1lorfpx.png It's ...

Re: I'm back in a Cav
Mechanic has just left...it is the belt that's gone but he says that the tensioner has also seized solid. Would this have caused it? He showed me the tensioner and it's knackered. Also the mechanic who came out is a family friend and nothing to do with the original fitting of the belt so has no reas...

Re: I'm back in a Cav
Oh bugger!! The thought makes me cringe. Typical Cavalier - one hassle after another. I'd be gutted if mine snapped. Hopefully the damage is minimal...and nothing more than the odd bent valve. That way, not much more expensive than a head gasket replacement with the price of a few valves thrown in....

Re: Crank sensor removal
It only needs a broken wire fixing so I'm leaving it as it is for now and I'll get it sorted at some point.
There's other things I need before I do the air conditioning such as wing mirror, scratch on wing and bumper repainting

Re: Crank sensor removal
How do you remove the crank sensor without removing the air conditioning pump or the power steering pump as it's located between the two of them making it awkward to get to? Cheers I think it's an absolute pain in the butt to be honest. I think it's probably been put there in the thinking that it w...

Re: Coolant level light on - I'm about to give up
Well I have no idea why the level sensor had been disconnected and bypassed as my mechanic popped round this morning to look at another issue I had and checked this while he was here. After reconnecting it and testing it with various meters or whatever he used (I have no idea) the light went out and...
