Re: 1995 2.5 V6 CDX Saloon Manual Cav in Magic Grey Pearl

Correct me if I'm wrong, wasn't this the one that bloke was selling along with his SRi a few months back on Facebook?

I am loving the progress anyway, the car's looking lovely, keep it up.

Anyway, back on topic: Here is the 1993 model year SRI (Note the plastic wheel trims on the 8v): [ Image ] Here is the 1993 model year 4x4 (Note the same wheel trims): [ Image ] 1993 SRi interior: [ Image ] 1993 4x4 interior: [ Image ] As you can see, they are very similar in external appearance an...

Re: How many MK3 Cavaliers are left today?

It used to be very easy to dress any cavalier as an SRi. Parts are harder to come by now, especially side skirts and body stripes, Bumper stripe end-caps etc. A reg or vin check against Vauxhall's EPC would have given the original specification. It's still relatively easy to do if you've got the mo...

Re: How many MK3 Cavaliers are left today?

my dad told me he scrapped an SRi 4x4 face-lift when he worked at a scrapyard in around '06-'07, I really don't know if they exist but he claims he put it on ramps and it was a whole 4x4 system, and it had 4x4 badges as well as SRi ones on the door and boot. Only logical explanation I can think of ...

Re: How many MK3 Cavaliers are left today?

I suspect most interested people that ask about "rarity" will be referring to the more revered models like the 4x4 turbo, or pre-facelift GSi, pre-facelift SRi, Diplomat, Cesaro etc. Update - I have done a table covering petrol LS cars. With 48 calculated outcomes, it is unlikely to be an...

How many MK3 Cavaliers are left today?

I have looked on How Many Left but I've heard they're inaccurate and I don't really trust them 100% myself. Does anybody on here keep count on the amount of cars left or have a register of some sorts? It would be cool to see how many are left, especially the SRi, GSi and turbo models.

Re: 1994 SRi 16v saved from scrap!

Your car is an absolute peach - lovely. That battery tray needs a bit of rust treatment and a repaint. A very common site for corrosion. The XEV is a very good engine. As long as it gets a regular service, and the crank angle / camshaft position sensor (not sure which) is in good condition, it will...

Thought I'd show some additional photos: https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/i/SRIGUY93/71046285_447528702771874_6653218230598893568_n.jpg?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds I was surprised at how clean and tidy the engine bay was to be honest. https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/i/SRIG...

Re: 1994 SRi 16v saved from scrap!

I changed the rear N/S quarter on my senator, and will be doing the other side soon, due to rust through. It's not a difficult job in itself, although I would say if you've no experience doing metalwork/fabrication/welding, spot welding give it a body swerve - excuse the pun - until you feel more c...

Re: 1.8 MK3 GLS won't start

If it started with aero-start, then you must be getting a spark, Which means all the ignition side is okay. I would look at the central fuel injector in the top of what looks like a carburettor. Your issue has to be the fuel / air delivery into the throttle body. (The carb like part). The likely it...

Re: 1.8 MK3 GLS won't start

Definitely check the petrol, when messing with little generators etc 6 weeks in certain circumstances can be enough with fuel to cause issues. It's had new fuel in it, I drained the old fuel out and put new in and still no result. To list a few things I've done so far but to no avail - Changed the ...

Re: 1.8 MK3 GLS won't start

First - try replacing fuse 11. Far left fuse, middle row. If the car will still not start, Have a look in the foot well below the ECU. There is a purple relay on a purple relay socket. This is the fuel pump relay. It is a basic 4 pin relay, so nothing complicated. (Unlike the multi-point injection ...

Re: 1994 SRi 16v saved from scrap!

It looks overall a tidy car, before replacing the quarter as there appears to be no rust I would personally try using a slide hammer and some self tapping screws to reverse the main of the dent then a light skin of filler. I have recently found out just how much work there is in replacing quarter p...

1.8 MK3 GLS won't start

Hey, I have a 1994 MK3 Cavalier GLS hatch that I've been trying to get running for the past year with no success. To give a bit of backstory my dad saved it from a scrapyard he used to work in around 2009 and it's been parked up ever since, he used to say it started and ran really good but he hadn't...

Re: 1994 SRi 16v saved from scrap!

Sorry to ask too but I also have a grey ‘94 Cavalier GLS 1.8 Hatchback my dad gave to me. It won’t start and I don’t know whether or not to scrap it, my dad saved it from the scrapyard he used to work at back in 2009 and it’s been parked up ever since. I’ve tried to start it but it won’t start, I t...

Re: 1994 SRi 16v saved from scrap!

Yeah, it hasn’t had an M.O.T in a while but mechanically I think the car’s been looked after. It’s only got about 86,000 miles on the clock too. I’m probably worried about the rear wing as much as all the other problems. I should be able to source one if I cannot repair the one that’s already on the...

1994 SRi 16v saved from scrap!

Hey all, hope everybody's keeping well during this madness! I joined here a couple years back and made a post regarding a GSi my dad used to own. I love Cavaliers and have for years, my dad''s had loads of GSi's, SRi's and just lots of Cavs in general. I'm only 17 and just recently passed my test a ...

Re: Searching for my old GSi

Thanks for the reply! Sorry my response is really late. I know it’s sorned but I just want to find the car tbh. I’ve posted everywhere. I’m saving some money and if I can find it and the owner is willing I’ll buy it back. Have you got any ideas on how I could track this vehicle down? Thanks in advance

Searching for my old GSi

Hey all, new to this club but have had loads of Cavs in the past. I’m currently on the look out for my old white GSi with the reg ‘K910 KGF’ car was in South Wales for years but I think it’s gone to England now. It was last around my area 2 years ago. If anybody owns or knows the whereabouts of this...
