Re: dash lights heater panel???

I'll watch this as well... the ones on my G-reg SRi don't work either!

Re: who had one of these, thread

Had a few of these over the years... had at least six Matchbox Cavaliers as well, and I'm buggered if I can find any of them now!

Re: Hello everyone :)

Total cock-up at the airport due to weather, back using the Focus as the Cavalier's decided it really doesn't want to play again, bought a Fiat 126 out of sympathy and I've still not started the Christmas shopping... oh yeah, and I'm working until the 31st of December! Anyone else in a worse state.....

Re: How many years left?

My SRi is already 20 years old, and like andysri I'd love to still be flying the flag for pre-facelift models in five, ten, fifteen years time. Admittedly I believe his is a bit higher in miles than mine (164k on mine at the moment) it still feels pretty tight and can show a clean pair of heels to m...

Re: OUCH!

Update on this... been too busy driving coaches, although I'm now refusing to drive the one that hit the Cav until it apologises! Seems to be driving okay though I'll get it checked anyway. Theres a bit of filler in the area as well, but nowhere near as much as I expected. The boss has arranged for ...

Re: OUCH!

Maybe should have made that clearer... ! I'll amend the post!

I followed the coach that hit the Cavalier into the garage... caught the fella red handed, he did hold his hands up and admit he didn't see it.

Still not best pleased about it right enough, but these things happen!

OUCH!

Step 1: Leave "daily" driver parked in car park. Step 2: Take Cavalier to work, planning to wash it at the garage and go take it to a man to see about winter layup. Step 3: Park in garage, and leave keys hanging up so that Cavalier can be moved should the need arise. Step 4: Watch helpless...

Re: B*****ds... !

All in writing. In fairness the car IS running a lot better than it was, and there is evidence of new parts rather than tidied and put back, but I'm still raging. I don't really want to name and shame them on a public forum, but they are a central Scotland-based chain of independants of a similar fa...

Re: B*****ds... !

Got a thorough explanation from them today. They completed the service and when they started it to drive it back outside it was running "like a bag of spanners". After they did some investigating, they changed the HT leads - one of which was apparantly broken - the distributor and totor ar...

B*****ds... !

The Cav was a bit over it's recommended service interval and needing a puncture repaired and a front CV, so heading home from work I popped into a locally recommended garage... reasonable service price, so they took it in there and then, saying it'd be ready in a couple of hours. Needless to say - a...

Thought I saw an unusually high amount of tidy Mk3s in the east on Saturday! Wish I'd went a-following gatecrashed with my SRi now!

Monza, Omega MV6 or Senator 3.0 V6 for sillyness, and a 2.5TD Omega estate so that I don't put too much mileage on the Cavalier... ! :P

For every one you see on the road...

... nearly crashed the car today, spotted another Haze Blue G-reg Mk3 heading towards me in traffic! Turned out to be an L or GL saloon, but nice to see another elderly one still running - in fact thinking about it, it's the only one I've seen since I got mine! Just a shame that about five miles dow...

Re: What was your first car?

Ford Focus 1.6 auto... bought it 'cos the insurance was slightly cheaper than the manual ones and the dealers had good deals at the time. It did 26mpg if you drove like a saint, always ran lumpy, at 48k miles the brakes failed, shortly followed (around 52k) by the gearbox. Got it going, traded it in...

Re: looking old

I've noticed, locally here anyway, early Vectras (say up to the facelift... W-reg or thereabouts?) have all but disappeared, but I've noticed at least fifteen different Cavaliers, including (worryingly!) a couple of Mk2s which have recently appeared out of nowhere! About fifteen miles away there are...

andy16387's SRi 130

Hi folks, Been digging about to find a decent shot of my SRi, so far not managed to take it out to get done as the weather's been pretty crap most of the time! Two for perousal so far... still lots to do tho - odd bits of trim (gearlever and handbrake gaiters), one of the front foglights has rusted,...

Newbie from Scotland...

Hi folks, Just getting started on here, so might as well start here! Recently purchased a reasonable 1989 G-reg SRi hatch despite spending a while looking for the Mk2 I'd always promised myself, so far very pleased - worlds away from my other car in terms of comfort and drivability! Usual spots seem...
