Re: SORN; the new farce...
So what they are saying is that you need to have 2 insurance policies, one for your new car and one for the car you are selling so you don't have the hassle of sorning it, you then have a policy you need to cancel and incur a surcharge or you have to sell your old car for less than you wanted for it...

Re: glowing battery light
My Diplomat used to do this with the heated seats and heated rear window turned on but that was down to the current load.
As suggested above, i would use a volt meter and check continuity in the earth leads and the leads connection to the engine, chassis etc (ring terminal to its fixing bolt)

Hey Squig, i'm back! lol Well the transmission manufacturer is Aisin Aw (no surprise a Jap company) and the AF13/20 (under other numbers like 50/42LE for example) were also used by other manufacturers (Volvo & Saab are 2 that come to mind) with the differences being the bell housing so maybe cut...

Its sad isn't it. Theres a bloke round the corner from me with a Viva on his drive which has been there for the past 8 years yet he won't sell up. Its not as bad as that S1 yet but its getting that way. That S1 is worth quite a bit now anyway if its the one without the extras (elecy windows etc) as ...

Re: diesel tuning
Thats an Isuzu lump so its safe to tune. If it was the Vauxhall TD (which i dont think came in Cavaliers iirc) then the rocker cover and physical looks of the engine are simular to a Petrol 8v. Its also the same engine as Rich C's on Vxon which has turned up fueling and boost and it also runs nitros...

Re: Injector query
I've heard that XE injectors fit the old 8v if thats any use  Ye, there is a bit of a difference in the bosch range, Squig. I've fitted a set of Bosch Super Plus plugs last xmas in my Cav, i'm pretty sure the engine feels a bit smoother. Not sure about any others though. I think squig is saying...

Re: Anyone on here...
I couldn't grumble with buypartsby.co.uk. I got the fuel tank for my old Dippy from there.
The only problem i had with it was that when it was full the float unit would get stuck until you went over a big enough pothole which would free it but that was probably because i fitted it myself

Re: Vectra diesel problems
My old man had this problem with his 97' 2t dtl Vectra. The cure was to blank the return that goes to the pump and Tee the leak off pipe from the injectors to the return feed that returns to the fuel tank.
