Looks to be a decent one liking the wheels.
I'm not sure about that front splitter though looks OK from a distance.

Re: My 1993 SRI 16v
I remember seeing this car & Nick at a meet I went to at a now closed car museum, he had a load of old police uniform in the boot to complete the illusion.

Re: My Cav Motorsport
Well another years MOT achieved yesterday after some trials & tribulations & also with some advisories, But sadly that means it has to be put up for sale now as I can no longer drive to work in it without having to pay the ULEZ charge. Anybody interested ?

As the gear box has been changed I'd start with the earth strap & see if it's been put back properly.

I was asking because I thought I could get some SRI springs to hopefully lower the rear a little, but still remain factory looking & not have to harsh a ride.

Re: Brake pipe flare nut size ?
I managed to tap on an imperial spanner but when I put pressure on it to try & undo the nut it started to slip off & deform the nut, so admitted defeat & went & bought a small set of 4 flare nut spanners. Low and behold the 10mm one fits perfectly, only problem is it slipped off the ...

Brake pipe flare nut size ?
Does anyone know the correct spanner size I need to fit the 4 flare nuts that hold the solid brake pipes into the master cylinder as out of all the spanners I possess metric or imperial none fit properly 10mm is to sloppy & 9mm does not fit ? There's a set Machine Mart have but the sizes are 8,1...

Re: Bedford Astravan MK2
Just relooked up in the handbook and you're right, 5.5j or 5j, my mistake. Ill have to bolt the rims on and check for clearance. I ran some 6J alloys on the SRI for a few years can't remember what offset they were though, they were OK but if I had any weight in the back or passengers the tyre would...

Re: Bedford Astravan MK2
The J is the width in inches. 7 = 178mm wide - suitable for 185 and wider tyres. 7.5 = 190.5mm wide - suitable for 195 and wider tyres. So not as wide as they look. Robsey is right the J is measured where the tyre seats between the edges of the rim, so if you measure the outside edge to edge the ri...

Re: Robsey's Thread of Random Ramblings.
To close the chapter on the MG / VP digital dash - After a long discussion with the missus and after doing a bit of financial reshuffling... She finally reported that she was more than happy enough with the 'boggo standard' analogue instruments. So I finally put the digital cluster back up for sale...

Rear Springs difference ?
Does anyone know what the difference is in the standard vauxhall springs.
My Motorsport has standard springs on that are marked as FG 243.
Catcar.info lists 2 types :
FG & GA which have different part numbers
FR & FJ which also have different part numbers
But no other information.

Well I managed to get another years MOT this morning with no advisories 🥳. I was quite surprised as I used my regular place but it's under new management and the new owner is the tester, when he told me that it had passed his words to me were "I didn't expect it to be so clean" going to sh...

Re: Corrosion Removal ??
In the past I've poured boiling water over terminals of batteries to remove the verdigris from them in big back up power systems. I think we need to put that in context - I assume that power had been cut from the bus-bars. Otherwise you may end up with a rather smart looking 80's "shaggy dog&q...

Re: Corrosion Removal ??
In the last picture it looks like it's taken the tinning off of the crimp terminal exposing the copper which is more prone to corrosion.

In my experience they usually come as part of the HT lead, they are heat shield for the lead as the plugs are down in-between the exhaust manifold.

Re: Simply Vauxhall 2021 at Beaulieu
Well the best laid plans, as it turned out there was no early arrivals carpark this year so we couldn't meet as planned to park together but as I drove in the silverfox spotted me & there was a convenient gap next to his car so we got the only 2 GSI's there parked together in the main arena. I c...

Re: Toad Powerkey issue - GSi non start
You said that the fuel line got punctured has this been repaired ? because the fuel could of drained back out of the system causing an airlock passed the hole & it could be sucking in air as well as fuel.
