Warning! Be careful where you wash

For speed/laziness i usually take my car to a drive-through carwash. Around 2 years ago i used a local "valet centre". I had used them twice before with no problem, foam on, jetwash off. The day before my holiday i took the car over. This time they sprayed the car with a clear liquid befor...

Re: 195/60 R14 discontinued?

I use bestbuy tyres, online. like others, delivered and fitted locally and cheaper than the fitters own price. I paid 60-65 each for 2 uniroyal rainexperts, cheaper than the 2 (same) already fitted, so now i have a set of 4. Not high performance but long lasting and cut straight through puddles no pr...

Re: can i move fuel filter on a cav sri ecotec?

Thanks for your assistance. Fuse out, stood for a day, clamped the supply hose (mole grips, i know, i'm bad) and by far the most petrol lost was from the old filter. I only wish i'd noticed that the clamp wasn't complete and the filter was cable-tied on before i struggled for 20mins with the rusted ...

Re: Hi all, more part-worn than new!

Hi, oddly enough i don't have many car photos. those i have are on an old hard drive-somewhere!
That pic was taken last year -after my first washing disaster and before my latest, last month. I'll post details in the shiny forum soon :cry
p.s. it only looks good from a distance ;)

Hi all, more part-worn than new!

Hi everyone. I've had 2 cavs, the first an h reg gl hatch and now my car of 8 years, a '94 sri ecotec hatch. I know some purists would prefer saloons with redtops but i like mine. It's 4 people with luggage for a weeks holiday in wales then the following week, moving a washing machine from glasgow. ...

can i move fuel filter on a cav sri ecotec?

Hi,
can i move the fuel filter from under the car to the engine bay? I need to change the filter but it seems such an awkward place to have it. I can't see why it would affect fuel pressure but it would be sitting vertically instead of horizontally.
Any thoughts?

Re: Restrictions

If you mean the standard oval tailpipe , then yes. Sounds good but be aware aftermarket clones may not fit perfectly. I've had 2. The first needed to be 'persuaded' with a hammer and blowtorch not to hit the body, the one fitted now needed a cable tie to restrict movement on right - hand cornering.

Re: Would putting cav slabs on my cavalier affect my insuran

my alloys are aftermarket (bought the car with them on). spoke to my insurers. No problem as long as they're standard size, not bigger or wider, but i'd always check with insurer by phone. Online comparison sites are a bit vague :scratch
