No 1st & 2nd Gear - Now fixed

I looked on the forum to see if my problem had been mentioned before, however I didn't find a match, so here goes. On a recent post, I moaned that I thought that my gearbox had gone pop!! I was driving about 8 miles from home, when suddenly I lost the use of some of my gears. I was able to select re...

Putting Full CAN Infotainment in a Cavalier

So, will this double up as a fuel computer and so on as well Rob? It's certainly more involved than I'd have gone with it. I like it though :D Fuel computer is not really a possibility, as the BC (Board Computer) functions in KWP format, but need to be CAN protocol on the display module. The sat na...

Aye, that side of things is controled by the multi-timer - however I have a cunning plan :D Look forward to hearing how you get on. Also is there a way to get accessory live (not ignition live) on the Cavalier ignition switch.?. Finally, I have now done a CIM module test run. I now have the ignitio...

Depending on your head unit, can't you do that by turning off the ignition logic function. Sure there is a section in the audio manual about this for the SC303 and the CD300...both quite basic Vx radio's. Failing that, you can still turn the radio on for 1 hr at a time with the ignition off. limited...

Due to shorter days and longer nights, I have been able to get a picture of the CD70 working...In night-time mode. cavvy night 2.jpg Did I mention that I am now bogging about with a CIM module to create ignition logic functions? Worked out all the pin-outs, just need time, money and warmer weather. ...

Re: Very annoyed.

Seats are quite feeble in the Cav 3. I'm on my second driver's seat (both height adjustable). First one snapped just above the pivot point above the seat belt latch area. This one creaks when I move back and forth - usually to look in the glove box, or to look into the rear footwell for something I'...

Mixed Blessings. Got the car back on Friday, but mechanic said your water pump is P***ing out. Great I thought. More expense!! Anyway fitted a new water pump today despite one bolt refusing to come out...this took two attempts before it stopped dripping. Fired up the engine to let it warm up...water...

Woohoo...
Mechanic says that the car will pass it's test now...

After he fixed the fuel line, he was able to run the car fine.
Only extra work, was a "burst brake line"...

Will get the cav back next week.. :)

Re: Cavalier Headunit ISO Wiring

Just noticed that the diagram says that pin 5 (Blue/Red - ABS wheel speed signal for speed dependent volume control) is for the SC804... Strange though as my Grundig SC303 Tape Radio and later my CD300 CD Radio both had this function and connection. And just for info, this ISO layout continues on al...

The Mk2 is a 1300 base model with masses of extra ventilation in the rear inner arches and drivers side rear door frame. The engine is the 13s with electronic ignition...not been run since 2002 Gave up on the idea of fixing this when some scrote pulled the wing mirrors off behind my house...was show...

Thanks for your generous offer, but I just can't get up-there at the moment. my garage quoted about £135 per side for cutting out the old sills, and welding in the new ones properly.. He was also very concerned about the "specific" flares on the fuel lines...I got the distinct impression t...

Re: The end of an Era - Cavaliers are going to the scrapper!!

My wife has said dig my heels in and fix the Mk3... after all I bought if for her for Christmas in 1995, she then gave it to me in 2005 when I bought her a Vectra C. I'd really like to do it back up, so I will just have to talk the mechanic into doing it.. The front seal is the crank shaft end seal ...

Totally gutted!! Finally had to admit defeat on my two Cavaliers. I know how you feel, both my Mk2 and Mk3 Cavs are being scrapped in the next few days.
Again due to the rust monster on the Mk2 but for the mk3 the list goes as follows...fuel pipes, both outer sills, cv boot split, fuel tank leak and blowing back box..gutted!! :cry

I have stirred up abit of a fuss on Vectra C.com.... There have been a lot of requests from there for wiring diagrams etc... I have recently made up a mini loom to control the radio facia and display lighting and temperature input control...this is done on post 2002 cars via a "body control mod...
