Re: My VERY RUSTY VW T25 Camper Van Project
Red oxide is a industrial paint used a lot by pipe manufacturers very tough and holds back the rust, look in the false ceiling of any building fitted with sprinklers and you’ll see lots of it. Can also be used as metal primer, never tried to rub it down though as always used it on out of sight bits ...

Re: My cav 1.8i 1995 saloon!
Not really getting the whole upgrade "scene" these days, seems everyone is slamming their cars and putting the biggest wheels possible on them. If the roads weren't full of potholes I'd maybe understand! Wheels & lowering are not really an upgrade in my opinion that's modifying, I've ...

Re: Supercar experience
I had a similar thing as a present a few years ago as you say a money making machine, as for the driving it was miles based which worked out to 2 laps of the top gear track, an out lap 1 flying lap then straight into the pit area. But I did get a Nissan GTR up to 130mph the instructor did say I only...

Glad to hear you've overcome the wtf! problems and can now get back on the road :) Is this the first full timing belt and pump kit since you got it? I got my car around the same time and now i'm a bit worried. It was always a rule with me - get a 'new' car and change the timing belt/pump/etc , you ...

Odd that they were too big. Must have been Turbo/V6 pads. Sometimes reg numbers don't decode properly on the EPC4 system that I have, normally leaving you to guess between several different parts. Yes strange I measured the old disc's & they are 256mm vented type, so the calipers must be differ...

Re: Speedo and mileage not working
As James said it will be a mechanical Speedo, could be the drive cable not connected properly at either end, I'd start at the gearbox end and connect a cordless drill the square end of the cable and slowly engage the drill and see what happens.

I had a look at my front brake pads the other week & to my horror I saw they where very low, so I order a set of genuine GM pads from ebay which turned out to be a Vauxhall dealer in Wales see link, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-GM-Vauxhall-Astra-F-Vectra-B-Cavalier-Front-Brake-Pad-Kit-9039...

I thought the check straps were to stop the door flying open if the wind catches it when you open them, not to hold them in position when you open them. I mite be wrong though.
