Yep, I'm feeling pretty epic this evening as I have managed to get one of my website pages listed higher on Google than one of the leading names in the genre! Happy chappy.
ps, you could help me out by searching for the f lyball photos website or flyball photography and seeking out my pages.

Re: Mikes 2.0 Gls
A coolant temperature sensor can read bad and screw up the fueling without throwing a fault code. It only throws a code if it goes outside th range considered normal. So for example, if the engine is at 80 degrees but the cts thinks it's 5 degrees then it will not give a code or a light but it will ...

Re: Mikes 2.0 Gls
Did I not see the sensor you fitted on here? You replaced the one with the single wire terminal? If you did then that's not the one you want to be looking at, you need to be looking at the one above the alternator with the square two pin plug on it.

Crank sensor mounts in the front of the engine below the ps pump. Andrei is right about the wire though, you should be able to follow it down.

Re: Mikes 2.0 Gls
Crank sensor fault won't cause fuelling issues Mike, save the £15. Coolant temp sensor might, the blue topped one, the lambda might, an air leak might, high fuel pressure might, a boot full of subs might, but a crank sensor won't matey.

Re: Cavalier 2.0GLi Randomly stopping
No cam sensor on the 8v 2.0, which I assume this is being a gli. Crank sensor is feasible, the light doesn't go out on cranking if it doesn't have a signal

Re: V6 refusing to fire - help please
^ what he said....... Immobiliser however cuts injector pulse, as does the injector circuit relay if it is one of the later ones with a separate relay.
I still think it was flooded and that you cleared it inadvertently playing with the crank sensor, but unless it does it again we'll never know

Re: V6 refusing to fire - help please
I've seen a few v6 crank sensors that would be intermittent with heating and cooling expansion and contraction. I followed one off the bottom of the m1 once spraying it with carb cleaner every quarter of a mile to cool it down so it would run again

Re: Cavalier 2.0GLi Randomly stopping
If you don't want to chuck money at it then it's better to reproduce the fault and work towards tracing it. Fuel relay is perfectly possible, as is crank sensor, coil, and pump. Without more diagnosis steps it could be a lot of things. Watch the eml when cranking it in a fault condition, if the cran...

Re: V6 refusing to fire - help please
Crank sensor is good then, if you have spark then I'd be suspecting it's flooded. Pull the fuel pump fuse and crank it over for a bit, see if it starts to splutter. The trick with the flooded ones is to give them just enough fuel for the clear cylinders to fire but not so much that the flooded ones ...

Re: Handbrake adjustment
Slacken the cable adjustment right off until it's properly loose Adjust the handbrake shoes, through the hole in the hub, or a wheel bolt hole if you are familiar with it until the wheel stops turning freely. You'll find the point where it starts to bite as the wheel turns one way but not the other....

Re: V6 refusing to fire - help please
Tc31 will clear if you crank it before checking, it's only there until it's cranked each time you turn the ignition on. If it remains after cranking then look at the crank sensor. I've seen plenty of people dismiss it as 'always there' but it's not if you crank it. Are you sure it's not flooded Dave...
