air box to manifold hose

hey all :wave An idea popped into my head. the hose that runs from the air box to the top of the inlet manifold is there to apparently help with cold starts or something, by drawing in warm air. Now, if you rev the engine with the hose off, and put your finger in the air box, you can feel it sucking...

Just a thought, have you checked if the fuel lines are clear? It might just be a bit blocked somewhere. Maybe a bit of carb. cleaner would help? :wave

Re: 2.0 glsi Auto not starting

My next guess would be something to do with the ignition barrel maybe, some wiring around there :scratch Check if everything is connected properly, starter motor, ignition wires, etc. Cant quite put my mind on what it is, it seems real tricky :scratch I will try to fi...

Well i looked around on breaker sites, put in part requests and one got back to me, thats how i found it. £50 was their price, CarQuip UK, thats probably one of the best prices around.

How2 - C18NZ, cleaing engine breather hoses

Hey all :wave Just a general tip about the breather hoses that i have tried myself and found useful, and it will come in useful to anyone else who has a 1.8 liter block and havent checked the engine thoroughly. :) Basically, after a while, the engine breather hoses will get clogged up with grubby oi...

Re: 2.0 glsi Auto not starting

Thats the part, mate. If there's a crack, there's a very likely chance that dirt and dust has got into it, so i'd try unscrewing the small bolts on the bottom of it, taking it apart carefully, putting some drip oil inside it, making sure the loose gold contacts inside are in good condition, and they...

Re: 2.0 glsi Auto not starting

Hi mate. I have an auto as well, and it sounds like the starter inhibitor switch is playing up. Only doing 31k though is surprising that it could be that, but electrics are unpredictable. Anywho, it might be worth checking that one up. Its on top of the gearbox, like a small pizza-shaped device with...

Hi guys. Just jumping in quickly as something came to mind. Could the issue in topic be affecting the front nearside tyre on my cav? Interior plastics

Hey all :wave I took the most out of today's gorgeous sunshine and thought i'd shine up whichever part i could find on my cav :D I learnt a new trick too. For those who have manual sunroofs, this is amazing. The sunroof handle, if you may notice gets grubby and filthy over time, so what i did is uns...
