Re: 8wrf20 and f18wr 5th gear

The lowest combination is the f18 wide 5th gear in f20 giving 0 74 ratio. Probaby way to low to be fuel efficient for the engine build your wanting. Standard xe probably work ok but be pretty gutless in 5th at 70 at it responds better after 3k. The reason I'm asking was because I paid a Vauxhall me...

Re: 8wrf20 and f18wr 5th gear

No sign of a wide ratio F20 in TIS, but here is a breakdown of the F20CR and F18WR gearboxes fitted to the Mk3 Cavalier. F18 WR 5th gear ratio = 0.74:1 - teeth values = 32/43 F18 CR 5th gear ratio = 0.89:1 - teeth values = 33/37 F20 CR 5th gear ration = 0.89:1 - teeth values = 31/35 And for complet...

Why do you need to know how many teeth they have.
Nobody on here will know the answers to your questions, i don't for one
The number of teeth is so you can work out the gear ratios for the driver and the driven gears.

Re: saab b204 engine

It makes a phenomenal difference when you are doing it because you want to, rather than because someone says you have to. There was an entry exam when I did the mot course, don't know if it's the same now. 50 questions, general vehicle mechanical knowledge. I got 49 of them right and they said it w...

Well crack on then. With your level 2 under your belt hopefully there will be more action than words. Some of the things you ask suggest you are totally blind in knowledge and know how. I like to collect info so I can learn from everyone's mistakes so I don't make them and cost me money some times ...

Oooh, level 2, I did one of those once! I wonder how much it's changed. I actually took the class the day we covered fuel injection because I knew more than the lecturer! Aiming for distinctions I hope Joe? I hope so this time I'm older and will pay attention its a trade too and becoming a mot test...
