Re: humbucker's 1994 Vauxhall Cavalier Turbo 4x4 (Turbo #2)

At the moment I'm trying to update my WIPs as soon as I get stuff done. Yes, I think that's the only way to keep on top of it. It's one thing to shudder at the idea of propping eyes open with pegs and sift through photos until silly o'clock in the morning, but it's quite another to end up stockpili...

Re: Use of Photobucket

PB has been running very slow of late. I recommend YouTube for all video hosting. If publicly viewable footage is a concern, then you can change your privacy settings to ensure that videos are only visible whever a direct link is reproduced, much like privacy settings on Photobucket. Vimeo might be ...

Re: James' 1995 Manual CDX V6 Saloon

Wow! That is good service. Far better than that I've received from Jetex. The Swedish manufacturer took my money for a stainless exhaust for Sharon's classic Saab 900, but then disappeared on factory shutdown for THREE MONTHS! Delivery is due at the end of September, by which time the car will almos...

I won't be using the OEM discs. Too pricey for my liking! I'll find some EBC discs designed for use on another car and drill 'em to suit.

Re: humbucker's 1994 Vauxhall Cavalier Turbo 4x4 (Turbo #2)

Contrary to what my lack of project updates might suggest, I have been carrying out quite a bit of work on the Cavalier - I'm just so tired at the end of each working day that I'm struggling to find the motivation to sift through all the photos I take each time I'm with the car! Must try harder...! ...

Re: Use of Photobucket

I am getting contradictory messages about whether or not I can upload mp4 videos to Photobucket. Can anyone shed any light on this? All video files are converted to .mp4 format when you upload them to Photobucket, irrespective of source file format. Video limits: the maximum file size for videos on...

Re: humbucker's 2007 Vectra VXR

Dan, keep meaning to ask, why the 'irish' reg plate? When I bought my Cavalier CDX V6, I inherited the car's original registration plate. It ended with a provocative three letter combo: BNP. This actually served as quite the distraction, at one point encouraging an enquiry from a chap who thought i...

Count me in! I didn't realise there was a second autojumble on the VBOA annual calendar. I look forward to seeing the same 'Pleasuriser' dampers that have been offered for sale every other time I've been to the VBOA parts day. It's like saying hi to an old friend.

Looking sweet Dan. Those new springs should help around the corners. :thumb Yup, the wider wheels and new tyres I've fitted have also made a big difference. Talking of which... Things were going swimmingly until the car’s stock offside rear toe adjustment bolt decided to give up the ghost. It’s a c...

Re: The greatest driving roads

Didn't get to do the Evo Triangle in the end. I'll be saving that for another day. I had a lot of fun in the GTE regardless. What a brilliant car. I covered a lot of ground in it, yet it remains an incredibly low mileage example - just 35k on the clock! I'm hoping to run a matching 'road trip/test' ...

Re: humbucker's 2007 Vectra VXR

The VXR’s excessive wheel arch clearance made the car look as though it was riding on Frontera suspension! I invested in a set of Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs that promised to deliver a ride height drop of approximately 35mm, and I also got hold of a set of Eibach Pro-Alignment bolts that would e...

I've decided to expand this into a series running in each issue of Performance Vauxhall magazine. I'm borrowing a brand new Maloo R8 LSA (6.2-litre supercharged V8 ute) in a couple of weeks. Now, which road should I tackle first...?! :P

Autovaux are in the process of shifting their stock database onto a completely new system. During this time, GPS will show parts available, but also those not necessarily in stock e.g. they will need to be ordered in for you.

Re: James' 1995 Manual CDX V6 Saloon

It's part number 13 on the image below. Not sure of the dimensions, but you can use the diameter of the fan outlet as a guide. The back end of the hose sorta just sits facing the alternator, blowing air onto it. I think its tucked inside the rear heat shield (that's what holds it in place). There ar...
