Although they will physically fit I wouldn't recommend using them as they will be the wrong spring rate for the weight of car.
If you're looking to lower your Cav, then some proper lowering springs are the way forward.
They will lower the car but maintain the correct spring rate.

Re: wiring of angel eyes headlights
My angel eyes are as follows: Sidelights: Halos only (quite dim as the lights are quite old) Main: Projector + halos. (My lights have H4s fitted in the projectors - can I put HID's in here?) High: 'Inner' lights + halos. 'Flash': Everything. I'm not sure how mine are wired in, but I do know that I h...

Re: V6
I thought the V6's were different in that they have the additional bracing on the OS inner wing for where the engine steady bar bolts on?
As already said, you might as well just buy a V6.

Mine would also be a Polo 1.2. I kept it about a month then got rid. It had no redeeming features. It wasn't even reliable. POS. I hope it's a really miserable washing machine by now.

Check that the cam sensor and crank sensors are plugged into the correct sockets, I seem to remember this is possible on the XEV.
Always worth checking that they've connected the engine earth up too.

I have found that cracking the sunroof open on tilt, fan on '1' and the 'heat' about an inch from the max does the trick, directed on 'screen' and 'feet', especially on a long run.

Thanks for the heads-up. I was in there a couple of weeks back and there was only one (half) of a Cav.
Just shows you how things change...
I am going to have to go to Seatons, it has been recommended by a few people, so I'm beginning to think it might be worth the drive!

Re: New workhorse - 2.5 V6 Hatch.
Yes, it's taken slightly longer than planned getting it on the road! Luckily, it had new coolant hoses all round just before it was laid up, so I'm pretty confident that they're going to be OK, but I'm going to be having my head under the bonnet regularly to double check. It had a new belt on the la...

Re: New workhorse - 2.5 V6 Hatch.
Finally got this on the road this weekend after being SORN for about 4 years! On Friday evening I fitted the LPG fuel line, then on Saturday I cleaned up the brakes that weren't as good as they could be after not doing anything for years. I also started the wiring for the LPG tank, thus finishing al...

Great progress! Cheers! :thumb at last on the road, whats the cav in the background though,a gsi? Well, not quite on the road, as I have a few other jobs like making the central locking work and suchlike, and taxing it, but nearly there! Yes, that is my GSI in the background, which is my long term p...

Re: New workhorse - 2.5 V6 Hatch.
Bit of an update. A couple of weekends ago I cracked on and got the sill prepped and stonechipped: http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j89/himselfunknown/V6%20Cav/Sillstonechipped.jpg despite an incident with crappy Hammerite stonechip and spraying good stuff on too soon and having the whole lot melt ...

Re: New workhorse - 2.5 V6 Hatch.
OK, finally managed to make some progress on this, even though it's only a little bit (but getting it into the garage was the main thing!). Prepped and painted the new towbar: http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j89/himselfunknown/V6%20Cav/TCR0011.jpg and the trusty LPG filler bracket off the old CDX ...

Re: My 1994 Cavalier LSi 1.8CFi (C18NZ) Work-horse
Sounds like you're getting there Rob. Couple of things spring to mind: The fuel pump relay doesn't only control the fuel pump, but other stuff too. Putting a feed direct to the pump might not solve other issues caused by a knackered relay. I have had this issue in the past. The car ran OK, but kept ...

Not been on here for a while... looks like you're making progress. Shame about the running issues though. I can put my hand on my heart when I say that the engine was running fine when it came out of the car... it was only a case of tin-worm that took the car off the road. It does sound like an elec...

Well, I've got two V6's, which is nearly 8% of the ones left on the road if the figures are right!
There must be more than that on the road, surely?

If the Cav passes the MOT, I'll be there, with VxOn.
Actually, even if it doesn't pass, I'll be there in the Astra, but later!
If the Astra doesn't start (for some strange reason) there is absolutely NO WAY I'll be turning up in the Honda!!

Ah-ha! The WIP thread! I'll be interested to see how you get on with this Rob. Like I was saying the other day, I'd hoover out the exhaust ports to ensure there is no crud in the head/bores. Then before I fitted it, I'd change the timing belt. Once it was all fitted, I'd get the hose pipe on it and ...

I think squig on here is partway through a 3.0 V6 conversion and he's well genned up on it. I've not done a 3.0 conversion myself - I was lucky enough to buy a pre-coverted 3.0. The guy who did mine is on another site though, so he'd probably help you out if you're after specifics. The things I'd be...

You can get an Omega 3.0 V6 into a Cav, you just need to swap some bits over from a Cav 2.5V6.
I think the Alpha lump is based heavily on the Vx V6 tbh.

I went for a nice quiet weekend in Wales. Which roughly translates as I sat around fidgeting like a kid with ADHD in between finding excuses to take the V6 for a thrash around the awesome Welsh country roads. 'Don't worry, I'll pop back to the Morrisons and pick up some milk - yes, I know it's a 30...
