I have checked the ECU pin-out.. There is no Auto-box presence ground wire. So just a matter of shorting the black/red inhibitor wire to earth. So all I can suggest is that you pull the fuse for the auto-box.. Fuse 16 I believe. The box ECU should be behind the glove-box. Hope that helps.. Robsey t...

Lol yeah it was a rust bucket but in all honesty the 1.6 S series rover engine is quite torquey and I remember getting a small wheelspin out of a change into 4th gear!!
