Re: banger challenge
Well the cavalier made it round Europe (just). It went across france going through center of Paris at 5pm on a Friday. That was something else. In to Belgium then Luxembourg. Back in to France then on to Switzerland and over the alps in to Italy. Rally finished at salo on Lake garda. On way home we ...

Re: WINDSCREEN RAIN SENSOR & (AUTOMATIC ANTI-DAZZLE) ACCESSO
I have the vauxhall kit for the auto wipers on a cavalier. It's brand new never fitted and still in its original box. No idea if it's the same part number .unless I go digging in the garage.

Cavalier got 4 new tyres today and the tyre I put on last year is now on the spair wheel in the boot. I then spent hours cleaning the car. Looking realy good :thumb . It's been booked in to a garage at start of next month for getting the cams set up. As I've never got round to doing it since rebuild...

I would love to take my Cavalier SRi on a run around Europe at some point. Until that happens I have the Cavalier diplomat to take on the banger rally in October.

I should remove the wheels and use another set of wheels just for sitting on for the 6 months it's off the road. May just use the combo steel wheels for it. Once I put tyres on the corsa sri wheels and put them on the combo. Ive got 5 sets of wheels for use between my fleet of 3 vauxhalls.

Re: SRi 16v W.I.P. (lots of pics)
Lately when out in the car the steering has been shaking and getting worse. So today I swapped the wheels from the front to the back and back to the front. Took the car for a spin and no more shaking. So looked over the tyres and the tred has some big cracking/ splits on them. Looks like I'll be buy...

Looks a good road trip and in a good csr too. Takes in some of the places I went to on last year's banger rally. This year's banger rally will be to most of the other places you going.
I just have a big detour to prauge.

Re: SRi 16v W.I.P. (lots of pics)
Cavalier was sent for MOT today and passed. Got the normal advisory ie to much underseal. Then a new one, front nearside brake pipe slightly corroded. Not to bad for a 22 year old pipe. Between MOTs the car has done 267 miles. Up from last year's 158 miles.

The cav passed it's mot. Had 2 weld it in 3 places, fitted a set of lowering springs, replaced a blow bulb and new discs with pads all round.
So it will be heading off round Europe in October.

Well the car went for a mot and failed on welding , broken front springs and a bulb. I knew about the first 2 things before hand. It also got an advisory for rusted and pitted discs. I have a set of back discs in my stock but need a pair of front disc. (Do you have any I can have cheap?) They are to...

This is the cavalier bought from ebay.
Needs to go for mot and see how bad the fail sheet is. Before deciding if its worth fixing or just breaking for parts.

Aye the road tax is the expensive bit. That ill be buying on Friday. Will also be buying my share of tax for the merc on Friday , to do the banger rally later in the year too. Mot at national tyres is only £27.50.

Re: SRi 16v W.I.P. (lots of pics)
It's insured as classic car doing 250 miles a year. The £36 is the insurance then need to add the broker fee and the tax. So comes in a bit higher than the £36, but still cheap. I'm happy with it. I'm taxing the car on Friday so be back on the road for 6 months.

Well that time of year is coming again. The Cavalier will be taxed at start of next month. Today I got the insurance renewal. It's a massive £36 to insure for the year. Well happy! Jobs to do to the car are need to renew the carbon stickers between the windows, change the Vectra 4 spoke steering whe...

From what I remember from my old mk3 astra . There is a lever on the diesel pump for cold starts.make sure it's moving and oiled up. Mine was stuck a bit and I had to hold the revs up for a bit to stop it cutting out.
