Re: My VERY RUSTY VW T25 Camper Van Project

Well this is it. Early van - I still have all the early coolant pipework, bar one £50 pipe only available in stainless steel. For the exhaust, I mistakenly binned all the early exhaust except the silencer and steady bars. Late engine I have about 70% of the coolant pipework on the engine itself, bu...

Re: Toyota Yaris 1.3 CDX (2002).

If you use straight circlip pliers threaded through the grommet, you can stretch the hole and feed your wires through. That is how I fitted the reversing camera in the wife's Vectra. [/url] I never thought of that, I resorted to using plumbing lube (the type used on the plastic push fit stuff) - at...

Re: Bedford Astravan MK2

Loving the progress on this one. Those bearings can be a pain in the hoop, not done many in my life, but the last few I've done have tested my sanity and the little press at my friends place as well as my shoulder trying to smash out the remains.

Re: Toyota Yaris 1.3 CDX (2002).

I didn't know that. How things change.

To be honest I am semi confident on it passing so much so I started fitting the rear camera. Feeding the cabling through the rear tailgate and associated rubbers.

Re: Toyota Yaris 1.3 CDX (2002).

Bushes and bearings have all been done over the past 4-5 years bar one bearing. drop links seem fine at the moment. Servicing is high on the list of things to do, it's been a while, but theres no smoking thankfully.

Re: My VERY RUSTY VW T25 Camper Van Project

All mounts up, as for the mix of late and early parts. I'd say go for whatever gives the best feeling for you and assuming it isn't going to be silly expensive.

Start as you mean to go on, hopefully those bubbles are easily dealt with once the MOT is done.

Replaced the rear spring that was snapped on Thursday night, that about all I have done. Should probably do a basic service on it.

It's a poor state of affairs parts wise these days. Hopefully you encounter less crap parts going forward, sounds like you're getting some cracking progress though even if it is fighting you a bit.

Not sure it would be that difficult to figure out, and if its targeted, I'd imagine they know already.

Re: My VERY RUSTY VW T25 Camper Van Project

I don't think any vehicle is safe when they can be stripped for spares and sold on auction sites. Although saying that, last few used parts that I bought online were little more than bin fodder. It's up to you, but ultimately, you're that far into it for what it would take to put the immobiliser in...

Re: Toyota Yaris 1.3 CDX (2002).

Whole regulator was bent, pretty poor pressed tin attempt at a regulator really. Needs a new rear spring, for MOT, hand brake needs adjusting too. On the list of things to replace: discs, pads and tyres are starting to get low. rear shoes possibly too. MOT, depending on the cost, we'll see what part...

Re: Toyota Yaris 1.3 CDX (2002).

So, its been a couple of months. Regulator was wrong, so sent that back, still need to go hunting for another one. Finally replaced the rear wiper (snapped the other one whist taking it off, so had to resort to the hack saw). Long over-due a service (3 years apparently :/) and a good wash. I really ...
