Rear wiper
Hey guys :wave Ever found that the rear wiper just didnt make the rear windscreen much more clear during heavy rain, fog or snow? I dont know if other people were aware of this, but the Cavaliers had the standard rear wiper blades fitted. 18" i believe. It was ok on my Cav when i used it, but d...

Re: exhaust clamps
Well i sorted the exhaust. And to my embarassment, it wasnt even a clamp that needed to be taken off  It was a flange where the exhaust section and cat converter met, secured by 3 bolts and nuts. I could have sworn it was a clamp   Anyways, its sorted now, its finally lost that br...

Re: Fuel gauge not working
This could be a multi-choice option. You could get behind the dash and check out the electric connections, but it could also be the fuel sender unit. I'm not sure if its the same on all cars, but on my old Citroen ZX, the gauge wasnt working. The fault was 100% the sender unit, however when the fuel...

Re: thermostat
 Well i can now say, with the new thermostat in, it doesnt heat up any more :D As in, it reaches normal operating temp. and stays there. Before it used to heat up a lot in stop-and-go traffic around town or when idling for a while. Now it hovers just out of the blue zone :D Never thought much a...

Re: Air in cooling system
Try flushing it, and either re-use it via a container if its good, or change the coolant over. When topping up, make sure you pour it slowly, and that there are no bubbles in the expansion tank before closing the cap and starting the engine.

thermostat
Decided to flush and renew the engine coolant today, and luckily i checked the thermostat.... 09071502.JPG Rust, corrosion and wear everywhere, and the spring valve was pretty sticky. The hoses were proper cruddy as well, around the thermostat housing. I knew for a fact that it would probably go any...

Re: hatchback sri speakers
Hey mate. Speakers, i think just go for the right size ones. As long as theyre the right size, theyre ok. Although i must say, the standard front door speakers are pretty damn good with just a 40W cd player in mine. As for the door card, its not the easiest, but take a look in the How To Sections, f...

Re: knocking cv
Hang on, i think i may be on the same boat here mate. My steering has a knock sometimes when i'm turning right and the front nearside wheel goes over a bump or pothole. the knock is coming from the offside area. I suspected the track rod end or a ball joint, but when i shook the steering at a later ...

Re: Aftermarket gauges
That would be great Anita, appreciate it Is it complicated, or more plug-and-play type of thing? I think it would be great though, to have more information on the engine as its running but i wont bother if its too complicated lol.
Thanks

Aftermarket gauges
Hey guys.
Thinking about fitting a couple of gauges on my dash, namely a Voltmeter and oil temperature gauge. If i get them, where would i wire the voltmeter gauge, to the battery, i presume? And the oil temperature gauge, where would i wire that into?
thanks.

Re: steering related knock
Hope not. I've spoken to a good mechanic about it and he suggested it could be a ball joint, possibly the anti-roll bar. He advised me to check the gaiters to make sure theyre not damaged otherwise the joint can wear out.

8-) Found a great new exploration spot - the Purbeck Hills, West Dorset. :D I was bored today and looking at my roadmap, i thought to do some exploration  So, in the lovely bucketing rain i set off in good spirit down to the Purbecks, Studland, Corfe Castle, Swanage, etc. The country roads ...
