if you are using hooks/eyes on the top of the engine do you really need the webbing to wrap underneath it?

Re: Oh Dear :(
Its the linkage, worst case some new bushes, probably get away with resetting it. Agree with Gaz on this, thinking about it, if the pin comes loose in the linkage you tend to lose part of the side to side throw. This leads to ok change in the middle gates ie 3+4, because the selector will naturally...

Yes maybe, but you know what we are talking about. To us it is a Cavalier, otherwise we'd be posting this on the 'Vectra 'A' Owners Club Forum wouldn't we.carlos_canter wrote:Dont forget, a cavalier IS a vectra, more so on the continent, and badged under opel.

solid paint is a lot more forgiving you can for the want of better description hammer the paint on and sand it flat and get away with murder. With a metalic plus lacquer its a whole new ballgame. Agreed, I painted the entire car because I knew I wouldn't have the skill to blend it. It had to be tha...

I saw one with a broken crankshaft once, broken between the front two cylinders and the back four, amazingly it was still running and the customer actually drove it in complaining of poor running!

If it's moved back toward the door then prob lower arm bent, and it is likely to pull like fu**. If the leg is bent so as to make the top of the wheel move inwards then they usually have a kink in the bottom of the tube that holds the shock, just above where it meets the steering knuckle (the part t...

Re: Hit a ROCK sticking out mud embankment
camber or toe? camber vertical, toe horizontal. Weakest point is usually the lower arm, but I've seen bent struts too. Lower arms usually bend in the direction of impact, often folding like paper. Strut damage is most often a kink in the tube just above the knuckle that causing the top of the wheel ...

Re: remote locking not working
The ones with green led's are code hopping remotes, it's possible they are out of synch but I don't recall any synchronisation procedure. Maybe remove the batteries from them overnight and disconnect the supply to the receiver too overnight and then reconnect forcing a reboot. Never tried with one o...

I would imagine the only way you are likely to find out is to try them. An 8.5 width is a wide wheel for a Cavalier.

I am intrigued by these HID lights, seen them a couple of times now and given that the standard headlights are crap I wondered what cost is involved in fitting them. The googling I have done suggests they would cost more than the car owes me??

Re: remote locking not working
Trying to recall the systems, but pretty sure the remote is just for the alarm if it has the manual/off switch on the dash, not necessarily linked to door locking. If it all works otherwise it may be that it was one of the ones where the remote is an add in unit, have a hunt around for an additional...
