Re: Hello and Help!
The colour of the car is a matt finish, not metallic. I would have called it a dark heather colour. It does need a clean though. pass, confused now, are you sure it's not rusty, lol One thing the Cavalier had which drove hubby mad was a really bad water leak. Every time there was heavy rain, the fo...

Re: Diesel preheater - Relays
Will check temperature sensor, as that would explain it's lack of interest easiest place to start (would a faulty control unit not throw the light on perminently, it could, but the ones I have seen have been a brief flash as I said above whilst incorrect temp readings leave it happy as larry.....) ...

Front undertray? It's a proper boot liner to be precise Andrei. But you started talking about it as a reply to an ebay link for undertrays, as if that was what you were using, pmsl. I'm only messing, I do tend to be a bit of a pi**taker, but I mean nothing by it. People tend to get used to it after...

Re: Diesel preheater - Relays
I'm sure I can hear each of the relay clicking, so will have a hunt for the control unit! Cheers Anything that normally makes them fail do you know? Seen a few of the control units themselves fall over, they are the bit that has the timer function in them. Seen a couple of dodgy temp sensors, not a...

Re: Hello and Help!
Do Cavaliers and Vectras have poor heaters? . Flushing heater matrix often helps, blocked pollen filters can reduce effectiveness badly too. Hi. Yes. It is the same colour Unlikely on an 'R' plate to be exactly the same colour. Purpley colour that changes according to light on an early Vectra is mo...

Oh!, I am so fu**ing jealous now! I had a Viceroy in the early '90s,, which for those who don't know was midway between the Carlton and Senator. I really wanted one of these but couldn't insure one back then. I saw some nice ones and some equally really bad ones through the dealer over the years. A ...

Andrei is using a front undertray as a boot liner and has fallen head over heels for a Hella grill! Other than that I've no idea because I dunno how long you been gone, lol.dave wrote:

Re: Diesel preheater - Relays
Been a while. IIRC there is a control unit on the drivers side kick panel high up above the central locking control unit. There is also a temp sensor for the system, I think it was in the stat housing, one of the type with a little trailing wire attached. Assuming the bulb is ok and you have checked...

Excessive crankcase pressure, usually caused by blocked breathers. If all the breather pipes are clear, including the unions and the full run of pipework, and the gauze in the cam cover is properly clean then it's major engine work. Either head or rings.

Nordic blue was one of the most common fleet colours in the day. Most cars in that colour will have been knackered within the first ten years, so indeed, it is likely to be a rare car. Good luck with it.Cavalier342 wrote: Should be a very rare show car once i've done the work.
