....if adding a second battery helped that backs up the case for a starter fault. A battery will not fail under these circumstances, if the cables were iffy then it wouldn't have made a blind bit of difference. What generally happens when a starter is turning over slowly is that it is drawing excess...

They also usually miss from a cold start for a few seconds too. A chemical block test is a more reliable method than compression test, but I agree with what has been said already

fantastic, always fancied a brooklands but this looks the part (without the price tag?!). got any engine bay snaps? Fair enough. 175s are history though, 195's are the standard for any base Cav nowadays. Maybe a base model wouldn't handle as well as a transit sport, but a GSi, i very much doubt it would hold up a van. Absolutely, SRi, Gsi and Turbo, and anything that has been modified at all would be very differ...

Very nice! Manual? 2.8 injected manual yes. One of the last Capri's built, and for those that don't do Capri's, they finished the run with 1038 of these with 15" wheels, leather interior and brooklands green paint. There is estimated to be less than 400 left I believe. Bought to replace my Cor...

You'd be surprised at the late Transit, they have gone backwards on reliability but the chassis is pretty good. I do around 30k a year in it and I'm not saying it's a Porsche, but it's far more confidence inspiring than a Cavalier on 175s with standard oil shocks.

I think I'd lose the bonnet buldge, put a slightly more subtle rear spoiler on, get rid of the clear rear lenses and put on some decent rims. Actually, I like that now I've seen the daytime photo's. The current boy racer style is not usually my cup of tea, but I had a dream of doing something similar with a MK2 Belmont back in the day. I vaguely remember that they will run on both ecu's, but the C20NE will wind up running in limp mode because it wants an o2 sensor signal.
