But hey ho... that is what we crazy folk do.
Spend far too much on a decrepit old vehicle.

Re: My VERY RUSTY VW T25 Camper Van Project

Cheers - my thoughts too. I have been told that a petrol bell-housing should be quite cheap to find... The cheapest I have found is about £95 used Cheap in comparison to that, boils my urine when someone tells me "That's cheap..." and its literally left me on the bones of my arse to sort....

Rebushing, or filling and reaming would get my vote, hopefully low cost and you lose nothing by trying surely?

Re: My VERY RUSTY VW T25 Camper Van Project

Huge difference can be seen by the casual observer as it comes to bits and gets cleaned up though. Massive difference (my perspective anyhow).

Aye, it'll come together though. I'm sure there are plenty of non-costing jobs in the meanwhile.

Now to finish the Camera installation.
I found the fusebox in the Yaris very confusing.
But then, I only had it for two months, so not much chance to suss anything really.
Yeah, it shouldn't be too hard :/ right? :)

Re: My VERY RUSTY VW T25 Camper Van Project

Well this is it. Early van - I still have all the early coolant pipework, bar one £50 pipe only available in stainless steel. For the exhaust, I mistakenly binned all the early exhaust except the silencer and steady bars. Late engine I have about 70% of the coolant pipework on the engine itself, bu...

Re: Toyota Yaris 1.3 CDX (2002).

If you use straight circlip pliers threaded through the grommet, you can stretch the hole and feed your wires through. That is how I fitted the reversing camera in the wife's Vectra. [/url] I never thought of that, I resorted to using plumbing lube (the type used on the plastic push fit stuff) - at...

Re: Bedford Astravan MK2

Loving the progress on this one. Those bearings can be a pain in the hoop, not done many in my life, but the last few I've done have tested my sanity and the little press at my friends place as well as my shoulder trying to smash out the remains.

Re: Toyota Yaris 1.3 CDX (2002).

I didn't know that. How things change.

To be honest I am semi confident on it passing so much so I started fitting the rear camera. Feeding the cabling through the rear tailgate and associated rubbers.

Re: Toyota Yaris 1.3 CDX (2002).

Bushes and bearings have all been done over the past 4-5 years bar one bearing. drop links seem fine at the moment. Servicing is high on the list of things to do, it's been a while, but theres no smoking thankfully.

All mounts up, as for the mix of late and early parts. I'd say go for whatever gives the best feeling for you and assuming it isn't going to be silly expensive.

Replaced the rear spring that was snapped on Thursday night, that about all I have done. Should probably do a basic service on it.
