Re: CAV TURBO

Hello, and welcome to the club! I have two Cavalier Turbos atm, and there is no doubt that the model has commanded a higher price in recent years, although I would argue that this is in line with the rate at which classic/retro performance cars have risen across the board, primarily as a consequence...

I'm no longer going to be able to make this (I'll be in Greece covering the Gymkhana GRiD finals for Japanese Performance magazine). Dagnabbit.

Do you mean the image on the preview screen or the image exported from the camera?

Re: humbucker's 1994 Vauxhall Cavalier Turbo 4x4 (Turbo #2)

I've been doing loads of work on the cars of late, and my Cavalier's new Lexan polycarbonate window kit from Plastics4Performance arrived a few days ago, so I figure I should probably make an effort to try and get each of my project threads up to speed before I end up with a trillion photos to sift ...

Re: James' 1995 Manual CDX V6 Saloon

If you suspect metal has been swimming around your sump, then you'd be absolutely crazy not to invest in a magnetic sump plug.

Re: James' 1995 Manual CDX V6 Saloon

New sump time for sure. I did think it might be the thread on the sump itself, but then immediately dismissed the idea. Should have stuck with my instincts. You can probably get a second hand one cheap. I think I paid a tenner for a minter from a Vectra B to use on the bottom of a Y32SE when I was c...

Re: James' 1995 Manual CDX V6 Saloon

I'm sure the OE plug has the 'collar' on the nut, matching the diameter of the washer. For the sake of the cost of a new plug, I'd invest in a magnetic sump plug if I were you. At least you can rule the plug out as being the issue, and you'll have upgraded the part at the same time. Other colours ar...

Re: Turbo centre caps

They're the same as the pre-facelift Omega MV6 centre caps. Not a lot of people know that, so you might be able to find MV6 caps to fit. I have some knackered old Cavalier Turbo centre cap badges in the garage. I'll measure one for you next time I'm tinkering. http://www.mediajustice.co.uk/images/ca...

When the Canon EOS 700D and the Nikon D3300 are compared side by side, it's difficult not to notice the Canon’s higher-resolution, three-inch, fully articulate flip-out touchscreen, which makes for an intuitive experience when recording Full HD movies or wanting to edit/navigate your way around the ...

Are all standard Cavalier (Turbo) steering racks manfactured by ZF? Who made the quick steering racks that I've read so much about?

Re: DSLR camera recommendations

It's the lens that's the most important factor tbh. A really good setup would be something like an Canon EOS 700D with an EF 17-40mm lens. You will never want to take that lens off the camera. The lenses supplied as standard are usually okay - good for getting you up and running - but definitely som...

Re: No further car shows to be held at Billing Aquadrome!

The writing has been on the wall for some time. The complaints about parts being sold and traders stems from the owners of the venue citing some vintage bylaw or another that prevents goods being sold on site without liability or product indemnity insurance. When most of the traders are glorified ca...

I could be wrong, and I am in no way advocating such behaviour, but I believe the common remedy is to "not tell the DVLA what you're doing."

I think I've seen those elsewhere on the forum (Dycie's project thread?). An alternative solution would be to use a Vectra B armrest. That's what I'll be fitting to my Cavalier Turbo.

The VXR spent time at independent performance vehicle specialist, A Reeve Performance in King’s Lynn, having its Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs and camber bolts fitted before 3D wheel alignment and a go on the firm’s rolling road. With regard to the latter, I was interested to find out what power t...
