Re: cam cover breather hose
i bet anything, now that the hose is clear, you may find a very small difference when you floor it. And when not flooring it, the fuel economy should be slightly better. Trouble with mine, no matter how i improve performance, underneath its still a 4-speed auto

Re: spraying mirror covers
thanks mate
my first painting project they do need another coat, as its a bit light in some places, but overall i'm happy, as at least it shares the main body colour

Re: cam cover breather hose
cool. fair play :) I told u that it might need looking at  u'd be surprised how much it fills up. I think its worth checking at every service interval. Thats my plan anyways. To be honest, i think that on older engines, to keep them running well, its not always about fitting new parts o...

Re: spraying mirror covers
thanks mate :) Ye i've got a few more bits in mind. But i changed my mind about the door bump strips, because if i respray them, it would look odd when the front and rear bumpers still have a black section to them, as the bumpers are not fully colour matched. Still, door handles would look good in b...

Re: cam cover breather hose
Ye, i was thinking that mate, to bring out the shine of the block, but in the long run, all the oil on the block does help prevent rust and corrosion, so i just left it be. I did see a tub of high temperature engine paint though in halfords, tempting :scratch But ye, i'd rather shine up everything e...

Re: cam cover breather hose
I have done the cam cover intake just got to do my hose Ye its real easy to do, just hold it up, streched out and look through it to make sure its clear inside. Like i said i used washing up liquid and a thin long soft wire brush. Certainly cleaned it out. And i'm defnitely sure that after the hose...

cam cover breather hose
Hey all :wave Just thought i'd give a shout out. I was thinking of doing something random to my car today, and i thought why not check some hoses and pipes and that. Luckily i checked the crankcase breather hose, as it was almost full of what basically looked like a mix of sludge, oil, dirt and grim...

Re: spraying mirror covers
Ye, i understand all of it, its just putting it into practice lol. I've sprayed them well with some trim restorer spray earlier, so there will be a load of grease on the surface. I guess white spirit will do for that. To be honest i'm not after like showroom style finish, but i would just like to ha...

Re: spraying mirror covers
jesus that sounds complicated
i thought it was just a matter of spraying a primer and several coats of paints on it. Ok, thanks Gaz. i'll see if i can dig up some spray cans and primer.

Auto gearboxes
Hey all
Just wondering, are there any auto gearboxes for the Cavalier that have more than 4 gears? I love my first gear reaching 40 and all, but i was hoping of reducing fuel consumption and having more torque. thanks.
Andrei.

spraying mirror covers
Hi all :wave Just wondering, i'm not too experienced in spraying, but i would like to ask, what do i have to buy to spray my door mirrors to match them to my Kings Blue body? I think i need a primer and a spray can with the right colour? I figure its well cheaper than getting body coloured mirrors. ...

Re: exhaust box
Waaay :D Finally fitted the SRi box on. (Well had major help from a guy across the road as he had a rotary tool set with a cutting blade 8-) Lesson learnt - easiest way to remove a backbox is to cut along the pipe's outer sleeve right to the end of the middle section pipe, then simply shower it with...
