Re: black stripe

No worries fella :D As for me, when i re-sprayed mine, i was intending to just spray the outer cover, not the long triangular bit, but i kinda went over a bit with the primer  But i think its better anyways, as the black/grey didnt make a good job of being pretty on the Kings Blue. But ye, blac...

Re: black stripe

Regarding the mirrors dude, i think its easier and cheaper and more fun to re-spray them rather than buying new ones.(unless someone gives an enticing offer :p )

Re: How far can you go on a tank of petrol?

Never tried emptying a whole tank before, however i was very surprised at something else. I ran it down from the start of the orange warning bit on the gauge. I drove around that day, non-stop around town and a little dual carriageway, got over 50 miles and didnt run out. I did then visit the gas st...

Re: gsi cavalier

good to hear mate ;) I recommend Waxoyl for most of it, make sure to get as much rusted loose bits off as possible, and for tight spots just use some filler and spray her back up :D

Re: MOT soon

Yep thats easy enough dude, just tuck the wires under the plastic door sills when running from the front to the back of the main compartment. They're not too bright on their own, but in a dark corner they do stand out. Oh and here's something worth considering too, wiring some into the interior cour...

Re: Gasoline

Cool, thanks buddy :) i reckon though, i'll stick to fuel additives. I'm using STP at the moment, the fuel injector treatment and fuel system cleaner. I'm gonna stick to the bottle labels which suggest to use every 1000 miles or so. As i take short routes usually, i'll probably do it every 800 miles...

Re: Gasoline

ye, i thought so.
Still, the fact that it is a cleaner fuel means it will probably do good for the odd fill-up, to make sure that i'm not putting loads of unnessesary deposits at the bottom of the tank. :) Thanks Gaz

Gasoline

Hey all :wave just wondering, i'm trying to get everyone's opinion on fuel octanes. I've heard a lot of different things about running on regular and super unleaded, but not sure still which one to go for. I know for a fact that super unleaded helps keep the engine a bit cleaner by not having as man...

Ye, i thought about that too, Gaz :) I will wire-brush the most rusted parts and then give it a good coat of spray. Just need a good long hot afternoon 8-)

Hammerite Waxoyl

Hey all :wave I saw some cheap cans of Hammerite Waxoyl for sale in Halfords, so i thought, why not see if my Cav needs a bit of it. I looked underneath, basically everything towards the rear is a bit rusty, anti-roll bars, parts of the main chassis, the solid beam just behind the rear bumper, suspe...

Re: MOT soon

To me, my Cavalier means everything to me, so for the last MOT, turned out to be £275. (most of it was labour and new headlamps) it all went out without hassle, because she means everything to me. Do what you can, buddy, because these cars mean more than something to people like us. I went to my loc...

Another Southern meet guys?

Hey all :wave Just wondering if anyone's up for another meet down South at some point in the coming summer. (refer to my "Southern area Club meet topic) I'm thinking late May to June :) Summer report looks good so far this year, so i thought we should get another meet going, this time with the ...
