Real shame... I would be tempted to ask if it was for sale.

Re: Bedford Astravan MK2
Couple of suggestions... but the best being use dry freeze spray can and good rubber head hammer - you’ll need approx 2-3 cans for full car
Spray small area and whack it with the hammer - don’t over do it as you’ll leave a dent.
It should crack and break apart - peal off extra

Some steady progress - Very nice!
Your parts list is a bit familiar to mine, made me laugh!
Nice transformation so far.

Hatch headline is a little shorter in length then the saloon cars...
The back seats are pretty much the same. For the gsi 4x4 turbo the front bases is a little different to compensate for the transfer box / propshaft

Re: Vauxhall Cavalier MK III Hatchback 1.8 LSi CAT 1994
Welcome back Original parts have shot up in price and decent parts get snapped up quickly. Also some sellers don’t bother with eBay, additional costs and lame buyers. I’d say make a list of what you like to do and some budget. If you’re keeping the car,.. then that not an issue. Sometimes You’ll see...

Brings back lots of memories.
It does need some work, like all the cars of the time.
Looking forward to the updates!

Slow progress... zzZ
I’be managed to source a few original gm panels for the next phase, including a brand new bonnet boxed - old one had Astra gsi vents.
Finalled Sourced some original set of gm mud flaps!

Re: GSI no: 2.
K&N and piper cross filters will make a slight difference - I’ve tried a few variations over the year of a number of different gsi / turbo. Standard filters are ok but nothing special. While you got the filter out, I’d suggest a quick air clean / wipe to clean out any dust etc. Downside - K&...

My suggestion would have been to have it flushed into the electric sunroof cover... or wired to a spare dash switch
But well done - cracking job!!

Re: Stiff bonnet release
Replace or adjust cable ... but that’s already mentioned.
Another option - You could move the lever to the other side under glove box as with eu car. The cable is shorter and less stress on the cable. But then you’ll need a few bits... the cable hole is present both sides.

There’s a guy breaking a full cavalier turbo, .. some perhaps you may be lucky in getting parts... it’s on eBay item no. 323421872327. Pm me for details..
I’m back from my work travels and I do have most of the bits you need... here and there.
Good luck

I think they look bang on ... go well with the car colour.
Next step would be turbo alloys.

Gsi / turbo kit is not available new. Most of the dealers don’t stock them any more. Those that do, prices are pretty high. Now with regards to he rear turbo light clusters and number plate surround - they are extremely hard to find.... and very expensive and if not there will be lots of interest. H...
