Re: Matts CDX - Work In Progress.

Last year I renewed with GA (aviva) because I was happy with their service when the car was hit, and felt for the sake of a twenty quid saving by the meerkat to an unknown company it was worth it. I fear thing will be different this year. I was reading last week that drivers over 50 would experience...

Re: Stuff we've seen on the road

I thought I'd seen it all last year with the snowman biker but this year was definitely better. I was nearly home and sitting at lights when the lead car, a 4x4, at the right of the crossroads caught my eye. Hard to miss really, around the roof there were loads of flashing coloured lights, that's wh...

Re: Matts CDX - Work In Progress.

I must be getting old, i'm actually ok with the wait, in hind sight. During the snow the phone recording said 'if you're at home or in a snowdrift etc you may not receive an appointment due to unprecedented demand for our service' - or something like that :D That's when I thought fair enough, I'll t...

Re: Matts CDX - Work In Progress.

I picked up the car today, it wasn't exactly the happy feeling i was expecting though, partly due to cost. How much! :o Although it was dark the ignition didn't feel right , it felt recessed, turns out it was. Steering wouldn't lock but key wouldn't turn, a quick spray of graphite oil soon released ...

Re: Matts CDX - Work In Progress.

It's been an interesting week. I parked up Monday night after using the car twice. Next day it refused to start(strong year-old battery) and the AA was contacted with the(not very good) app, then cancelled by me after a series of updates that took my time from 16.20 to eventually 21.25 by a second p...

Re: Cavaliers in the snow

We had an inch and a half of snow, nothing really, normally it would be gone in a couple of days but the freezing temperatures turned the un-gritted streets to ice. https://i.postimg.cc/9MxYBhzZ/icy-road-crop.png https://i.postimg.cc/6qyLjmGS/icy-road2-crop.png The main routes were fine but I was su...

Happy to help :D
I think christmas has gotten easier for me over the years, the older I get the less i need/want and the family are happy with recent changes- 'cards for adults, gifts for children', it removes a lot of financial pressure from them.

I only looked here because asc was able to supply spring seats (after i'd had them made up because they weren't available anywhere at the time) so thought worth bookmarking. I think he hasn't noticed, much like my water pump seller. If you'll need them I wouldn't put it off too long, I've noticed pa...

I've never found Costco membership worthwhile, the decent deals are never anything I want to buy 🙄
Not just that, fuel price £1.49.9 per litre at present. Pays for itself as I pass the place daily.
Do they sell E5?

Re: Toyota Yaris 1.3 CDX (2002).

Cannot grumble at that price. Just in time before the proper cold weather arrives, to kill off any old or tired batteries. In years gone by, I have run the Cavalier on electric wheelchair batteries. Not ideal, as they are more like "leisure" batteries, but they have got me out of a fix a ...

Nice work, both of you.
It's always more satisfying making your own parts, usually of thicker metal, than fettling thin copy panels.
