just joined today iam a real cav mk 111 fan i own a 1994 8 valve sri ex unmarked police car with 101,000 miles on the clock its got the 20SEH lump without the cat fitted and it goes like stink its a bit scary in the wet plenty torque steer but you can control it if you go gently on the loud pedal and i love it ,i have owned a few cavs and this one takes the biscuit dont know whats has been done to the engine but it aint standard my son has a 20ltr 16valve sri and it leaves him for dead if any one knows what the police had done to these cavs i would love to hear from you, when i got the car around 5 years ago it had just had a new lump fitted by the police force at 88,000 miles

Hi mate, welcome to the club :D Proper decent Cav you have there by the sounds of things. I dont know if we have any other ex-police examples here, you may be the first one 8-) Enjoy your stay here mate :)

welcome mate , the cav sounds very interesting , hope to see it at some point . just a thought , have u tryed writing to the force who owned the cav b4 u did , they shud be able to provide u with the details u want . keep us all updated tho as i,m intrigued now ! . :wall

the SEH is one of the finest 8 valve engines around the amout of low down torque is stupid but so much fun , dont forget your son's sri (if an eco) only has 6 bhp more and unless hes nailing it around the limiter in each gear he will struggle against the low down grunt of the 8 valve engine which will be away like a shot 8-)

Hello and welcome, :wave :) Really sounds like you've got a super decent cav there! I once owned an ex Police Granada (I whisper this quietly :lol: ) and it too went like a bomb!! :lol:
