Hey all
Guess I should introduce myself - Im from near Watford, 47 years old, two teenage children. Had a beautiful SRi about 15 years ago that I had to eventually get rid of because it was constantly being stolen by joyriders. Always got it back, but the condition just got worse and worse each time. Always promised myself another Cav one day and a few months ago purchased a very pretty low mileage CDi. Lovely car, but the exhaust just went tits up - unfortunately that'll have to wait till after Christmas now though.

Re: Hey all
Welcome to the forum
Strange that, as you say it constantly got stolen and you got it back each time.. Should have just fitted those anti-theft flamethrowers on it.
What engine/year is the new Cav? I've got a set of CD alloys that came with my second Cav, they do look good I think.
This is a friendly forum, so join in with the banter.

Hi, A good choice of model (might be biased because I have one!) they make great long distance cruisers with that wide ratio box.
My exhaust apart from the rear box is original (1990) Sections can be picked up on ebay for bargain prices!
Enjoy

The police reckoned that it was just kids nicking it to ride home from the pub - be that as it may, I had numerous windows put through, and more than a couple of dings. Oh, and I had three child car seats taken/dumped. Decided it was probably better to get a smaller, more uncoool car. Ended up with a micra

The new one is a 2.0, lovely drive

Gotta get the rear wheel arches done too - theyre a bit bubbly.

That does look a very tidy Cav
Shame about the other one really. Rare colour as far as I know. Does look very nice. And a saloon
Very good buy in my opinion.

radio/tape deck. Works, that's the main thing.
At least the center console has a 4 cassette holder
practical.
I never really listen to music in the car anyway to be honest, I'd rather listen to the engine purring away nicely... or rather, growling at the moment, but not for too much longer

Re: Hey all
Very true, I sometimes have the radio on when I'm on the move, only tuned to the local station. Other than that I'd rather listen to the motor working away and also for emergency traffic.....
The number of times I've suddenly had an emergency vehicle pull out of nowhere because I couldn't hear their sirens over my cd player..... Not doing that again...

Heh, been there, done that - my ex just HAD to have the loudest, window poppingest, stereo ever. Put me right off having sounds on in the car ever again.

Re: Hey all
Don't get me wrong, I like listening to songs while driving, but I'd rather concentrate on traffic instead and make sure I don't cut up an armed response car or something like that

My only plans at the moment are to get the rear wheel arches cleaned up and the exhaust fixed - cant really think of anything else till after Christmas.
Got a pic or two from when I bought it, yes.

ah yes that was one of dave cav_2.0_gli's... nice motor, like you say, tidy the arches up a bit and you've got a lovely OE cavalier there.
