Back in a cavalier again!

Hello once again. Been a while.

Just bought another cav after regretting selling my old one. This ones gunna follow the same route and have a Saab engine but this time I'm aiming for 400hp and not settling at 300 like last time! Building in memory of my brother so that will keep me enthusiastic to hit my target. It's gunna be kept original other than suspension and brakes and obviously engine.

It's been on eBay and is a dark green Ls in very very good condition with gsi seats and clocks and electric sunroof. The crappy c18nz which is in very good nick will be for sale in a week or so for next to nothing as will the wheels etc that I'm not using.

Just a couple pics to keep you going before I start a build thread. :thumb

I thought about buying this just for the GSI interior then selling the car on.

Nice project...
I suggest you seam weld the car before running that kind of power through it.
You will find stress cracks all over the car if not done

Well this has been done for a good few months now. Nearly all teething problems sorted. Handles the power really well considering. I'll get some pictures up of it.

Looks a little odd without the big panel filter on the left wing.

Good tidy little job.
Are you going to write a How 2 for this?

There was a huge amount of interest in SAAB 204 / 207 engine installations a few months ago.
I am sure that the interest will return again along with the nice weather in the late spring.

So iv had this now for a while now and never actually updated it.
I had it on the rolling road (a crap one in bradford) it made 392hp and 400lbs torque though it was wheel spinning so im pretty sure im into 400 with ease. Made its max power at 5200rpm which it made full torque at.........

When i built it in september everything was brand new.
Apex springs
Saab aero shocks
Ebay intercooler (big)
2.25" pipe work
308mm front brakes
286mm rear brakes
5mm wheel spacers
Chinese gt3076
Siemens 630 injectors
Walbro fuel pump
4" air intake and cone filter
3" exhaust
3bar map sensor

After not using it much last year i took it for mot yesterday and it failed on a small hole on sill back brake imbalance. Not bad for a 23 year old car.
Iv got a new speedo cable for it and also ordered a used but working window regulator as mine keeps playing up.

Other than that shes back out for 2017.

Excellent stuff.

Good to see the old girl back in action.
And very minimal work to do by the sounds.

not much at all compared to what newer cars fail on.
