Parts for cavalier turbo

Post by BerwynGeorge1949 »

Hi, my name is Berwyn George and I'm a new member. I have owned a cavalier turbo for 20 years and have kept in excellent condition during this time .however I am finding it extreamly difficult to find parts. I'm looking for a propshaft centre bearing, but have been unable to find one. Can anyone help or suggest an alternative. Does anyone stock parts for these cars now?
Regards
Berwyn

Hello Berwyn, welcome to vauxhallcavalier.com! :)

A few of us here own Cavalier Turbos. It would be good to see some pics of yours - get a few snaps up in the 'Projects, Restorations and Runabouts' section:
viewforum.php?f=21

As for parts for your car, there are still many no-longer-serviced genunine old-stock Cavalier Turbo parts floating around, it's just a matter of unearthing them (a task made infinitely easier if you have part numbers). Fortunately, we can help on both counts.

Get your part numbers here:
http://www.partsbase.org/opel/vectra-a-1989-1995/

Get the parts from eBay or any of these retailers:
viewforum.php?f=54

Finally, as far as your propshaft centre bearing is concerned, you won't find one (believe me, many of us have tried!), but the good news is that it is actually cheaper to have your entire propshaft refurbished by a prop/transmission specialist. I was quoted around £80 to have mine done.

I hope that info is of use to you. Don't hesitate to fire questions in any of the technical support sections on the forum if you need further assistance. We're keen to do what we can to keep these classics on the road!

welcome to cavmk3 Berwyn, I also have a cavalier turbo, but I'm only a novice compared to you, I have only had mine 9 years, but as Dan said get some pics up of your cavalier, there not many of these classic cars left now, I know quite a few of these cavs, as I'm admin on the cavalier turbo forum, so yours must be a new one to me, its surprising how many different one have surfaced lately, Ads
