Hi there... first of all confession. Don't have a Cavalier. Drove one once with 275000 miles on it, bottom end went just before 300,000. Petrol that was a Mk 1 1600 ?
I'm here because I know of a beautiful Senator MkII 24V 1993 auto low mileage but the owner has no idea how to price it for a prospective sale. He runs an Omega now and the Senator is Sorned and garaged.
So here under false pretences can anyone point us in the right direction Thanks.
PS I Administer a specific rare model VW forum and often get asked same ridiculous 'how long is a bit of string' questions but try to help where possible.

Senators are (like most late 80s/early 90s cars), going up in price.
Trouble is, Senators are so rare that it's hard to put a reliable price on them because sales are so infrequent.
As always, it depends on who is looking to buy at the time of sale and the condition of the car.
All I can say is that the 24v model is the one to have. If it's condition matches the mileage than I'd say it's worth quite a bit to the right buyer.
We have a few members on here who own senators, they may be able to help you more than I.

I am a modestly quiet member there too.
Our resident Senator "expert" is Cavalier 1990. He has a Senator work in progress on here.
Just like I have one for my wife's T25.
Assuming it is a straight six, your Senator should be a stunning car - I always had a soft spot for the cam-in-head engines.
As for a value.... ooh we are talking a dependence upon condition, level of corrosion, and trim level.
I would expect to pay a fair few thousand for such a rare model in the UK.
Just guessing 2,000 for a car needing a little TLC.
The sky is the limit for a really nice car in good condition.

The more info you have the more easier it is to put a suggestion as to a potential price. First thing is bodywork would need to be good, if it's needing a lot of resto work then the price will not rise above a couple of hundred at best, and that will be for a parts car mainly, if it's a mint 24v your looking at the guts of 2-3 grand max. Even though it's low miles doesn't automatically mean the frame etc are good, if it's been garaged and kept out the grit and rain + lived a cossetted life, then that should help a great deal.HarryMann wrote:Anyone, anyhelp, any place to look for help on this lovely Senator...
