Hello people
Copied from one of my posts........
"Introduction, hmmm, suppose it'd be polite. Name is Paul, live in Bexhill On Sea. Have a late 1800LS Auto 5dr, in satin red. It was given to us four years ago by sister in law who lost the plot I think. I sourced it through the private ads for her a couple of years before that. It now has approx 80k on the clock and mechanically is superb. Trim is a little tired, although presentable and the paint is pretty battle scarred but it is solid, with only one small area of rot on the nsr arch. It's been sitting on my drive untouched for two years (used a bit like a second shed, lol). I have made some effort this week (hence my interest here) to revive it due to the failure of the timing pump on our Zafira, which is going to be neither cheap nor a quick fix."
Booked in for MOT tomorrow, I'm a bit out of practice, but used to be a tester myself and I'm pretty sure it'll be ok. Photo's below are a year or two old, will post some new ones at some point.

Re: Hello people
To add, because I just realised it wasn't in the bit I copied and pasted..... I am an ex Vauxhall Technician of Cavalier vintage. Worked in a handful of North London dealers between about 1991 and 2003, culminating in workshop control for the last 2 or 3 years of that. My Cavalier knowledge is pretty good, albeit a little rusty. I have been an RAC Patrol since early 2003 currently working the night shift in the South East.
I used to love doing anything car related and was really into the Capri for some years, including a bit of quarter mile racing with a tuned Rover v8 injection powered 2.0S. In fact I still have a 280 in my garage which is now considered as my retirement fund, lol. I don't have the same enthusiasm these days but am happy to offer advice if I can bring the knowledge back from the dark and deep corners of my mind?

Re: Hello people
Jess likes to help with the cars, she's 8 now and her bedtime stories consist of lessons on the four stroke cycle at the moment, lol.

Re: Hello people
Thanks all for the welcome, I took some photo's of it tonight, but it was a bit too shadowy so I'll take some tomorrow. It's no minter, but it's ours and it doesn't owe anything!
MOT good today, advisories on the brakes, not surprised really as I only drove about half a mile to the station and it's been on my drive rusting the discs for almost 2 years I think. They still passed and it was otherwise all ok.
We are now reliant on it as daily transport for the wife until I get a new timing pump on the Zafira, which can probably wait 'til after xmas 'cos it's gonna be expensive!
